Brazilian streamer casimito has become one of the main (if not the main) reviewers of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Twitch and YouTube. For the first time in the history of the industry, a popular content creator has received exclusive rights to broadcast matches of such a major championship for its audience. Streams Charts has gathered interesting statistics on how the past championship was discussed on the casimito channel and streaming platforms in general.
Earlier we noted that casimito set a record for Peak Viewers among broadcasts on YouTube Live. It happened during the match between Brazil and Croatia, which was watched by 6.1M Peak Viewers on his channel. At the same time, another 353K concurrent viewers watched the match on his Twitch channel. Unfortunately for fans, the Brazilians lost in a penalty shoot-out.
Holding the second spot by viewership is the match between the national teams of Brazil and South Korea: on YouTube, it gathered 5.2M Peak Viewers, and another 338K concurrent viewers followed the game on Twitch.
We should remind that casimito streamed exclusively for the Brazilian audience (viewers from other countries could not watch the broadcast), so the matches of other teams gathered a much smaller audience. For example, the game between Argentina and Australia, which became the third most popular on the channel of the Brazilian streamer, was watched by 1.5M Peak Viewers on YouTube and only 143.3K Peak Viewers on Twitch.
Interestingly, the final between Argentina and France, unlike other matches, was only streamed on Twitch, where it gathered 276.5K Peak Viewers. The broadcast on YouTube was turned on after the match and included post-match analytics: it scored 450K Peak Viewers.

We also analyzed the number of mentions of different countries on Twitch during the World Cup in Qatar. Most often, users of the platform discussed Argentina: during the tournament, the name of this country was written more than 1.1M times. The second spot is held b the United States (888.1K mentions), and the third spot went to France (514K mentions).
Mentions of the players deserve special attention. Messi, Ronaldo, and Mbappe were the most popular football players on Twitch during the World Cup. Moreover, the first was mentioned more often than the other two combined. Depending on the match, the number of mentions of Messi grew to almost 70K messages. On December 13, when Argentina beat Croatia, this number rose to 87K, and after winning the grand final, it literally skyrocketed, exceeding the mark of 230K (in total, more than 1.3M mentions during the entire tournament).
As for Ronaldo and Mbappe, they scored almost the same number of mentions during the tournament: 356K and 348K, respectively. At first, Ronaldo was significantly ahead of the Frenchman in this indicator, but everything changed during the final, since Mbappe managed to score a hat-trick and a goal in the penalty shoot-out.
Interestingly, the number of mentions of Ronaldo in the chat fell significantly after Portugal's elimination but then it increased again during the grand final. The Portuguese player began to be mentioned more often in the context of his rivalry with Messi, who, unlike Ronaldo, was able to lead the national team to victory in the World Cup.
