Halloween is just around the corner, one of the most beloved holidays among streamers and content creators. It’s that magical time of year when streams turn spooky, screens glow orange and purple, and chat rooms fill with pumpkins, ghosts, and cobweb emojis. The atmosphere is unmatched: costumes, eerie lighting, creepy sound effects, and themed overlays transform ordinary broadcasts into true Halloween shows.

Every year, top streamers celebrate the occasion with special events — from horror marathons and zombie survival challenges to vampire hunts and ghost-hunting adventures. And as tradition goes, some games always steal the spotlight.

In this article, we’ll take a look back at the most popular horror titles that captured viewers’ attention during Halloween 2024 — the games that made hearts race, screams echo, and streams unforgettable.

Most-watched horror games on Twitch during Halloween 2024

#10 A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead (130K Hours Watched)

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead brings the tension of the hit film series into gaming. Silence is both your weapon and your curse — every sound can be your undoing. Streamers must stay calm, move carefully, and resist the urge to scream, while their viewers hold their breath right along with them. It’s a deeply immersive, nerve-racking experience that fits the Halloween spirit perfectly.

#9 Buckshot Roulette (146K HW)

Buckshot Roulette adds a dose of insanity to the Halloween lineup. This darkly comedic game turns Russian roulette into a stylish, nail-biting experience where each round could be the last. Its unpredictable nature and twisted humor make it perfect for high-energy streams, with viewers laughing and cringing as streamers gamble their virtual lives away.

#8 Voices of the Void (162K HW)

Voices of the Void blends cosmic horror with sci-fi mystery. Players explore remote territories, intercept strange radio signals, and uncover inexplicable phenomena. The eerie isolation and creeping sense of dread make it a perfect fit for late-night Halloween streams. Viewers feel like they’re part of a strange, otherworldly experiment — and that’s exactly what makes it so engaging.

#7 Dollmare (212K HW)

Dollmare was one of 2024’s indie horror surprises. Instead of relying on cheap jump scares, it builds unease through atmosphere, mystery, and psychological discomfort. Its distinct visual style and unpredictable storytelling make it a great choice for intimate, story-driven Halloween streams where silence and suspense speak louder than words.

#6 DayZ (270K HW)

DayZ brings realism and survival horror together for an intense Halloween streaming experience. The threat doesn’t just come from zombies — it’s other players, hunger, and the relentless fight to stay alive. Watching a streamer scavenge through ruins in the dark, unsure who or what might be lurking nearby, is pure tension. It’s the kind of fear that keeps viewers glued to the screen.

On the Streams Charts platform, the Categories section includes a special genre filter that lets you select games by type — such as horror, shooters, RPGs, and more. For deeper analysis, you can also use additional filters like gaming platforms (PC, Console, Mobile, etc.), publishers, date picker, and others.

#5 Silent Hill 2 (380K HW)

Silent Hill 2 is a timeless psychological horror masterpiece that continues to haunt players decades after its debut. The recent remake brought it back into the spotlight, letting streamers share its unsettling story and haunting imagery with a new audience. Its combination of psychological tension, disturbing monsters, and emotional depth turns every playthrough into an unforgettable horror experience.

#4 Diablo IV (529K HW)

Diablo IV isn’t a pure horror game, but its gothic tone and demonic atmosphere fit the Halloween mood perfectly. The world of Sanctuary is full of dark rituals, bloody dungeons, and grotesque monsters — ideal for long, immersive streams. Viewers love the mix of eerie visuals, satisfying combat, and character-building creativity, especially when paired with Halloween music or themed overlays.

#3 Phasmophobia (549K HW)

Phasmophobia might as well have been designed specifically for livestreams. Teams of players hunt ghosts, gather evidence, and try not to lose their minds in haunted locations. The game thrives on player reactions — from nervous laughter to full-blown panic — making it perfect for Halloween content. Dim lights, spooky whispers, and jump scares turn every session into a shared ghost story between streamer and chat.

Interestingly, among all the horror titles in this ranking, Phasmophobia took the lead in the number of active channels on Twitch — around 3.2K streamers were broadcasting the game simultaneously during Halloween. Dead by Daylight ranked second in this metric, with a peak of about 3.16K active channels.

#2 Dead by Daylight (1.1M HW)

Dead by Daylight has become a Halloween classic. This asymmetric multiplayer game — one killer versus four survivors — delivers endless rounds of adrenaline, screaming, and chaos. Each match feels like a mini horror movie, and the developers always add special seasonal events and cosmetics to mark the holiday. It’s no wonder streamers return to it every October to scare and entertain their audiences.

Dead by Daylight came in just behind the top spot. To celebrate the holiday, streams of the game on Twitch racked up a little over 1 million hours watched in total.

#1 Hunt: Showdown 1896 (1.08M HW)

Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a perfect choice for streamers who want to test their nerves — and their audience’s — to the limit. Set in the eerie swamps of the late 19th-century American South, the game mixes monster hunting with constant tension and unpredictable encounters. Every step in the fog, every distant gunshot keeps both streamers and viewers on edge. It’s that rare blend of suspense, strategy, and fear that makes for a truly captivating Halloween stream.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 became the most-watched horror game on Twitch during Halloween 2024. Over just two days (October 31 – November 1), the game’s category generated more than 1.08 million hours watched.

Most Watched Horror Games in Halloween 2024

Twitch was the main platform for horror livestreams during last year’s Halloween. Streams on YouTube generated far fewer hours watched, and the most popular titles there were largely the same as on Twitch. The top-performing game on the red platform in terms of watch time was Silent Hill 2.

With only a few days left until Halloween this year, it’s already the perfect time to start planning festive streams or special activities. There’s no doubt that viewers will once again flock to atmospheric horror broadcasts filled with zombies, ghosts, terrifying monsters, and all sorts of spooky surprises. Be sure to check out the Streams Charts section with upcoming game releases — you might just find the perfect title for your Halloween stream.
