The records keep coming for Ibai “Ibai” Llanos. The Spanish Twitch megastar has once again rewritten the platform’s record books thanks to his highly popular influencer boxing event, La Velada del Año. The fifth iteration of this sporting spectacle touched an incredible 9,334,179 Peak Viewers (PV) during the first fight between Pablo "Peereira7" Pereira vs. Rivaldo "Rivaldios" Reatiga, which the former won by unanimous decision.
This shattered the previous mark of 3,846,256 peak live viewers that he had reached during the livestream of the fourth edition of La Velada del Año in July of last year. This now means that he has been responsible for the platform and channel records being broken for the last few years, with the latest achievement also making Ibai the most followed Twitch streamer with 19,687,595 followers.
The La Velada del Año V also helped Twitch reach 14,078,025 peak live viewers, a figure thought impossible before this event came along. It also made Twitch the second livestreaming service after YouTube to reach 10 million PV overall at a single point in time.
It seems that Ibai, now firmly established as a businessman and entrepreneur who has transcended his glowing reputation as a legendary Twitch creator, can do no wrong with ventures away from the camera. The Kings League, which he started alongside Barcelona and Spain football legend Gerard Piqué, has also been a revelation since its birth, doing extremely well on livestreaming and spawning many pretenders.
Ibai’s League of Legends team, KOI, also got a monkey off its back by clinching the LEC 2025 Spring last month. This event benefited from this side’s win as it recorded its highest watch time in three years, with its rivalry with “frenemies” Karmine Corp, owned by French sensation Kamel "Kamet0" Kebir, taking on a new form here.
At the time of writing, only two bouts had been completed at the La Velada del Año V, with a handful more matches still to come. There’s a high chance that the numbers above could rise, especially with the Kick and Colombian megastar Luis "WestCOL" Álvarez taking on one of the most recognizable Spanish streamers, David "TheGrefg" Cánovas, in the main event.
