On June 9, the main gaming conference of the summer, Summer Game Fest 2022, was hosted by the well-known journalist and TV presenter Geoff Keighley. In the new article, Streams Charts will describe the memorable moments of the event as well as the audience numbers it managed to gather.

Even before the start of Summer Game Fest 2022, Keighley said that the event would focus mainly on already announced projects, and there would not be that many new titles. As a result, the loudest announcement of the conference was connected to The Last of Us. Namely, Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog presented the trailer of the remake of the game’s first installment, talked about the upcoming multiplayer mode, and also shared the details of the HBO series of the same name.

In total, over 30 titles from 2K, Activision, Atlus, Devolver, EA, Epic Games, Mihoyo, PlayStation, SEGA, Square Enix, Warner Bros, Xbox, and other publishers were presented at Summer Game Fest 2022. It's funny that the presentations during the first hour of the event featured a lot of space horror in the spirit of Dead Space, while the second hour featured even more various anime games.

The celebrity guest of the event was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who recently appeared in Fortnite as the character “The Foundation.” He talked about how happy he is to work with Epic Games, about his participation in the upcoming DC movie “Black Adam”, and also did not miss the opportunity to promote his ZOA energy drink brand. During this speech, “The Rock” appeared in front of the Summer Game Fest 2022 audience shirtless, coming straight from his gym - which became a hot topic on social media.

In total, Summer Game Fest 2022 collected just over 3.2M Hours Watched and 1.34M Average Viewers. The event also attracted more than 1.5M Peak Viewers - this mark was reached during the speech of Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog regarding the announcements of The Last of Us.

Twitch turned out to be the most popular coverage platform for Summer Game Fest 2022, generating over 60% of the event's Hours Watched. Leading during the conference were the official channels of thegameawards, with the YouTube channel turning out to be more popular than the Twitch channel. Coming third in terms of viewer activity was the YouTube channel of GameSpot.

It should be noted that English-speaking viewers were the main audience of Summer Game Fest 2022. The rest of the event's top 5 broadcast languages included Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Russian.
