Ludwig Ahgren recently held his first-ever Counter-Strike 2 event, The CS Minor, and it was one of his most popular events with over 70,000 average concurrent viewers. The tournament was Pro-Am style, with former pros drafting teams of streamers to compete for CS2 Knives.

Held on the evening of April 26, the combined broadcasts of Ludwig’s quasi-official stream and the co-streams of many participants made Ludwig’s first CS2 event one of his most popular events ever.

What was the most popular match of Ludwig’s The CS Minor?

Viewership peaked for Ludwig’s The CS Minor for Team Fl0m’s game against Team Shroud, early on in the day. On top of the leading captain’s names, which already draw a strong audience in North American livestreaming, the match included many other popular content creators, such as Jacob "NakeyJakey" Matthew Christensen, Timothy "iiTzTimmy" An, and Rani "StableRonaldo" Netz.

This match of the CS2 tournament reached over 93,800 Peak Viewers for the final moments on Ancient, when Team Fl0m claimed the victory to the tune of a 13:10 scoreline. This peak moment was largely supported by waves of support for StableRonaldo, whose own personal broadcast reached over 35,000 Peak Viewers twice during the game. While this was the most popular match of the event, viewership remained high throughout, as seen by the 71,000+ Average Viewers, including for the grand finals.

How many viewers watched Ludwig’s The CS Minor?

In total, Ludwig’s one-day The CS Minor event accumulated over 641,000 Hours Waatched: an impressive figure for only 9 hours of broadcasting time. Throughout the day, an average of 71,251 viewers were tuned in at any moment, most of which came from Ludwig’s own broadcasts on YouTube Live and Twitch.

The second-most popular streamer of the event was StableRonaldo, whose own fanbase ensured he would top the charts here. With over 4.5M Followers on Twitch, Ronaldo dwarfed other hugely popular variety streamers like Jodi “QuarterJade” Lee and  Leslie “Fuslie” Fu; these two were the next-most-watched streamers behind Ludwig and Ronaldo, but a significant gap separated these creators.

Who won Ludwig’s The CS Minor?

The CS Minor featured four teams, led by former Counter-Strike pros and content creators: Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert, Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, Erik “fl0m” Flom, and Austin “AustinCS” Meadows. These creators drafted teams from 16 streamers, including some of North America’s most popular livestreaming talent.

Ultimately, Team n0thing defeated Team fl0m to claim the grand finals. The winning roster comprised of n0thing, Christian “Noko” Feliciano, Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop, Aiden McCaig and Nick Vercillo, co-hosts of The Yard podcast with Ludwig. While the finals received strong viewership, it was not the most popular game of the event.

What are the most popular esports events organized by Ludwig?

Overall, Ludwig’s most-watched esports event ever was the first Ludwig x Tarik Invitational, held in early 2023 before the Valorant Champions Tour kicked off for the year. Its near-20 hours of broadcasting time saw the debut evet generate over 2.2M Hours Watched, an impressive feat for a third-party event in a franchised ecosystem.

In terms of peak concurrent viewership, Ludwig’s most popular esports event is the Fortnite Monday hosted by Ludwig, an event which took place in March 2022. The tournament featured a $100,000 prize pool, sponsored by Epic Games, and some of livestreaming’s most popular creators, such as Félix “xQc” Lengyel, Imane “Pokimane” Anys, and many more. With such a vast array of creators involved, co-streaming was a key part in this tournament’s success.

Thanks to fans following Ludwig’s broadcast and other viewers brought in through co-streams, The CS Minor reached a significant viewership in its short-broadcasting frame. While it was unable to compete with Ludwig’s lengthier Valorant events in raw watch time, it was more popular than all sequels to the debut Ludwig x Tarik Invitational. It was also more popular than all of Ludwig’s previous Super Smash Bros events.
