Asia as a streaming market is much more diverse than its Western and European counterparts when it comes to the variety of services that are popular among users. While the latter two regions bank heavily on Twitch and YouTube, the world's largest continent has many more native platforms that have captured a good percentage of the daily and yearly audiences.

What is also noticeable when looking at the most watched and popular content creators from this landmass is the sheer assortment of genres and content types available for viewers. While gaming is still the number one choice for most online users, they also prefer videos from genres including comedy, vlogs, Just Chatting, and People/Blogs.
However, like the two most famous streaming sites globally, the personalities who have managed to rise to the top mostly remain the same across yearly rankings, and 2023 is no different. Moreover, the purple platform has a long way to go to match the market monopoly it enjoys in North America and Western Europe.
Most watched Asian streamers
The top influencer is NimoTV's most popular face, MixiGaming, with the Vietnamese being well-known for his love of all things Grand Theft Auto 5. However, with correct data for this streaming service almost impossible to curate, his numbers should be taken with a pinch of salt, although there is no denying that he is one of Asia's most viewed names.
Fps_shaka is second, with the Japanese developing a deserved reputation as arguably Asia's biggest Twitch star who also prefers to spend time wandering (or flying across) the streets of Los Santos. Coming in third is Thầy Giáo Ba, the second Vietnamese from NimoTV in the top three and one of the country's top names in the League of Legends circuit.
Five South Koreans pop up in the bottom seven of this leaderboard, split between Twitch and AfreecaTV. The former is represented by 한동숙, 우왁굳, and 풍월량, who are known for their deep-rooted interest in video game titles like Lost Ark, Teamfight Tactics, Escape from Tarkov, and Diablo IV, all highly sought after games over the past few years globally. The Korea-based site has 와꾸대장봉준 and 김민교, who are both well-versed in all things related to the League of Legends circuit.
Japan's lone rep here is 加藤純一です, who spent most of last year playing titles like Apex Legends and Valorant, apart from also partaking in sessions related to Just Chatting. The last name comes from India, another booming market for YouTube, where Pandit Pradeep Ji Mishra Sehore Wale continued to reign supreme thanks to content in the People & Blogs category, which mostly saw him air religious content, which is pretty famous in the country.

Twitch dominates the top ten standing in one of the few Asian regions where it can safely claim to have a solid footing in terms of viewership. Apart from the two names already mentioned on top come two regulars in our monthly YouTube rankings, Kuzuha Channel and Pekora Ch., who have both made being VTubers highly fashionable. Then there is stylishnoob4, part of the content creation team of ZETA DIVISION, one of the country's biggest esports organizations.
Most watched Korean streamers
The first new entries on the Korean list are BJ이상호 and 철구형2↑, who love spending time in the StarCraft: Remastered, League of Legends, Social, and FIFA Online 4 categories. What is clear from this list is that Twitch and AfreecaTV are highly sought after in this East Asian country and have a massive influence on where renowned content creators can be found live-streaming.
Most watched Indian streamers
This top ten is filled with gamers and religious figureheads, two segments of Indian society that point to extremes in its ideologies and beliefs. There is also a stock market specialist at number three who used to be in the futures and options field and now does crypto future trading and conducts regular seminars for those interested in learning about and becoming experts in the same.
Most watched Saudi Arabian streamers
Another leaderboard dominated by gamers, GTA V clearly takes priority, with four out of the ten mostly streaming playthroughs of their exploits within Rockstar Games' legendary creation. There are also religious and IRL channels that add a sense of variety to the type of content that Arabic viewers can find across platforms.
Most watched organization channels
Indian handles dominate this list, taking up six of the ten spots on offer, with most dealing in News & Politics, with the exception of one account that is completely geared towards all things cricket. There are also representatives from Indonesia (esports), Qatar (News & Politics), The Philippines (Entertainment), and أجمل تلاوات القرآن الكريم, an Arabic religious channel.
What is evident is the utter dominance of YouTube when it comes to the most viewed organizations in Asia, which is something no other service has been able to replicate or beat. That makes this continent and many of its countries crucial markets for the red platform, and it has done a great job keeping hold of them despite the competition being pretty tight, including from regional sites.
