Most watched Twitch esports teams in January 2022
Share:

January 2022 did not feature that many tournaments, but content creators and players from esports clubs were still actively streaming. Streams Charts presents an updated ranking by Twitch metrics of the most popular Twitch esports teams.

Disclaimer: Rating is based on the total Hours Watched spent by the viewers on the broadcasts of teams' streamers. Data on esports matches are excluded from the statistics.

The most watched esports team on Twitch is once again Luminosity Gaming. In January, it managed to collect 31.23M Hours Watched, more than 77% of which were generated by the viewers of Felix xQcOW Lengyel (the most popular streamer of 2021). At the same time, the total Hours Watched of Luminosity Gaming increased by 8% due to the united efforts of the team members.

Heretics, founded by David TheGrefg Canovas, was pushed off the second spot to the fourth place with 17.61M Hours Watched in January. At the same time, the contribution of TheGrefg himself amounted to more than 62%.

The second and third spots in the ranking were occupied by TSM and NRG. In January, both teams increased their viewership statistics. But while in TSM's case Hours Watched indicator was up by 1%, in NRG's case it has grown by a whopping 30%. On Andy Reginald Dinh's team, viewers most actively followed Lucas buddha Ramos and Phillip TSM_ImperialHal Dosen. In case of NRG, Thomas Sodapoppin Morris and Cody Clix Conrod became team leaders this time around.

Climbing three spots in the ranking is T1 which took the fifth place in the top 10. The team's 28 streamers were able to collect 13.64M Hours Watched in January, which is 58% more compared to December. This was partly due to a 77% increase in the indicators of Tyler loltyler1 Steinkamp, who amassed 8.32M Hours Watched in January and became T1's top streamer.

Due to the greatly increased Hours Watched of T1, Cloud9 and Liquid lost one spot each in the rankings, now occupying the sixth and seventh spots. At the same time, their indicators also increased, but not as much though – by 3% and 22%, respectively. When it comes to the leaders of Cloud9, those were k3soju and forsen, while  qojqva and midbeast attracted the most viewer attention in Liquid team.

One of the newcomers to the ranking was LOUD (8th spot). In January, the team amassed 11.1M Hours Watched, which is 36% higher than in December. Loud's most watched streamer was loud_coringa, contributing over 66% to the team's overall score.

FaZe dropped one spot, gathering 9.97M Hours Watched in January. While this indicator was up 6%, the team lost two spots in the ranking as compared to its December results. Its top streamers were NICKMERCS and Swagg.

Closing January’s top-10 is another newcomer – the Sentinels team. It managed to amass 8.9M Hours Watched, which is a 35% increase compared to December. At the same time, ShahZaM, who holds the lead in this indicator across the team, increased his own Hours Watched by 87%.
