October 2022 Facebook Gaming results: most popular channels and categories

October 2022 Facebook Gaming results: most popular channels and categories
Share:

The situation with gaming categories on Facebook remains unchanged: with the top most popular sections on the platform in October being traditionally full of mobile titles. The Dota 2 section has also made great strides, almost doubling its Hours Watched last month thanks to The International 2022 match broadcasts. Check out the monthly Streams Charts report on Facebook Gaming’s most popular game titles and streamers.

Most popular Facebook Gaming categories in October 2022

The total Hours Watched for each category is determined based on the channels broadcasting in that category during the period in question.

The PUBG Mobile battle royale ranked first with 24.6M Hours Watched on all channels in October (down 11%). The section reached the mark of 118.4K Peak Viewers. The Arabic channel Maherco Gaming became the most watched one, generating about 1.5M Hours Watched in a month.

It should be reminded that during October, the regional stages of the PUBG Mobile Pro League were held, with the best teams receiving the right to participate in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022. The world championship itself will be held from November 10 to January 8 in Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. The prize fund of the tournament will be $4M.

The second spot in the ranking went to Mobile Legends, a mobile MOBA from Moonton Games studio. In October, the title reached almost 21.5M Hours Watched on Facebook (down 11%). At the same time, the game reached the highest Peak Viewers mark of 391.1K viewers. This was largely due to the broadcasts of MPL Philippines Season 10 and MPL Indonesia Season 10 matches.

The mobile game Garena Free Fire generated nearly 12.6M Hours Watched on Facebook in October. For comparison, it had around 15M hours a month earlier. The game’s Peak Viewers indicator dropped from 54K to 40.2K viewers. It should be reminded that October marked the end of all regional leagues, which doubled as the qualifying stage for the Free Fire World Series 2022 Bangkok. The World Championship itself will be held on November 25-26 with a prize fund of $2M.

The rest of the top also remained virtually unchanged. It can be said that Dota 2 was the only exception: in October, the game’s section on Facebook showed an increase from 2.9M to 4.5M Hours Watched (up from the eighth spot to sixth). This was achieved thanks to the broadcasts of The International 2022. The League of Legends section, which was not in the top in September, also made it to the top 10.

Compared to last month, the Vietnamese version of Arena of Valor dropped out of the top. Instead, entering the top 10 was League of Legends.

Most popular Facebook Gaming channels in October 2022

The most popular gaming channel on Facebook in October was the MPL Philippines channel, which broadcasted matches of the regional league of the same name. Last month, it streamed for 57.5 hours and amassed 2.5M Hours Watched during that time (down 11%). It should be reminded that in September, the MPL Philippines channel also ranked first in the top.

The second spot in the ranking was taken by the Maherco gaming channel, the broadcasts of which were dedicated to PUBG Mobile. In October, the channel generated 1.67M Hours Watched. A month earlier, it had 1.45M and was ranked fourth in the top.

The official Mobile Legends: Bang Bang channel reached 1.3M Hours Watched in October, down about 11% from September. It broadcasted the MPL regional league matches in Indonesia.

Vietnamese channel Nam Blue, which specializes in broadcasting on PUBG Mobile, has amassed 678K Hours Watched over the past month, up about 19% from October.

Closing the ranking’s top 5 was the Peruvian streamer PIO TV. In October, his channel generated 641K Hours Watched, up 637% from September. This channel broadcasted The International 2022 Dota 2 matches, and such rapid growth was not in the least due to the success of the Peruvian teams in the tournament, as two local teams made it to the top 8 at once. PIO TV was the most popular community caster of the tournament on Facebook. He also took the lead by Peak Viewers (29.3K viewers) among all Hispanic channels covering the championship.
