President of India Droupadi Murmu's YouTube channel has set a new record for viewership — it was watched by almost 242.6K Peak Viewers. This online was recorded when the military parade in honor of Republic Day, which was held on January 26 in Delhi, was broadcast.

The main content on the channel is small broadcasts from official events attended by Droupadi Murmu, the 15th President of India. For example, reports of her visiting schools, temples, exhibitions or ceremonies, presenting state awards, making addresses to the nation, etc. Her live broadcasts are usually watched by a couple hundred viewers, and their Peak Viewers number rarely exceeds a thousand people. Before the broadcast of the military parade, the channel's record was 71.6K PV (when Droupadi Murmu took the oath of office as the newly elected president). The January 26 broadcast increased this number almost 3.5 times.

Delhi Republic Day parade is one of the largest and most important events in India. It is held every year on January 26. The event is followed by a large celebration, which lasts for three days. There is a solemn unfurling of India's national flag, a march by the elite military units of Army, Navy and Air Force, etc., during the parade. In addition to the militaries, the parade also includes mobile platforms with installations dedicated to the diversity of culture in different regions of India, as well as major historical events that have taken place in the country.

Presidents of other countries also use streaming services like Twitch and YouTube to communicate with their people. Sometimes the administrations of these platforms even ban the official accounts of top officials if they violate the rules of the service. For example, in 2020, Twitch temporarily blocked U.S. President Donald Trump's channel for "hateful conduct". In 2021, YouTube blocked the channel of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro for a week due to fakes about the coronavirus vaccination.
