The streaming service Rumble set a new platform record for peak concurrent viewership. Overnight from June 27 to 28, European time, the platform hosted over 700,000 viewers simultaneously. This marks the second record set by a platform in June 2024; earlier in the month, Kick also achieved a new milestone.
The new record is directly tied to the first debates between the two main contenders for the U.S. presidency in the upcoming elections: Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Joseph Biden. Many Rumble streamers covered the event, attracting a substantial audience. Among the leading channels were Daniel Bongino, an American conservative political commentator and radio show host (223,000 Peak Viewers), and Steven Crowder, a conservative political commentator and media host (192,000 Peak Viewers).
With its new record, Rumble has slightly closed the gap with Kick in terms of maximum concurrent viewership. The Stake-backed platform also set a new record in June: at the beginning of the month, there was significant excitement around the stream of sxb from the media football tournament Kings World Cup 2024.
Excluding new streaming services, Rumble's achievement is formally the third record among platforms in 2024. The first to set a new mark was NimoTV: in April, during the global event Nimo Gala, we recorded 6.7 million concurrent viewers. However, we wouldn't focus on this fact, as we have doubts about the legitimacy of these figures.
