Samsung's latest Galaxy Unpacked event was held on July 9, revealing quite a lot of details about the tech giant's foldable and flip mobile phones and a few smartwatches. With the announcement getting much attention among fans and tech lovers, the official livestream on YouTube ended as one of the platform's top Science & Technology broadcasts over the past week by peak concurrent viewers.
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 touched almost 136,000 Peak Viewers (PV) on its official English YouTube channel, reached during the reveal of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The 206,187 Hours Watched (HW) that it attained also put it among the ten most-watched Science & Technology livestreams for the last week.
Samsung chose a handful of influencers like Meshael "Meshael_MR" (a Samsung Saudi Arabia ambassador) and Shane Craig to livestream the broadcast on their channels. However, it was the above official English channel on YouTube that collected the majority of the viewers, with the official Vietnamese channel also attracting almost 20,000 PV. After all, Samsung remains one of the favored brands among Vietnamese people when it comes to the choice of smartphones.
The biggest bit of news coming out of the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 was the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. At 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded, it will be even thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Fold 6. The foldable smartphone also has a larger 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch display on the inside (up from 6.3 inches and 7.6 inches, respectively).
There was also news on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 at this tech showcase, which has received a larger cover display. Its new 4.1-inch cover screen will extend beyond the two cameras (located within the display), while Samsung has increased the size of the inner display from 6.7 inches (Flip 6) to 6.9 inches.
Other updates included Samsung disclosing the FE, short for "Fan Edition," version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which is cheaper than the flagship model at $899.99. The South Korean multinational major appliance and consumer electronics corporation also doubled the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s storage and added tweaks to the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic.
While the latest Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event did not set the world alight in terms of audience reach, it still created a lot of buzz among tech lovers and fans of the brand on social media. Updates on its foldable and flip phones were accompanied by news on its premium smartwatches and an appearance from Google about its AI Mode.
All this created enough hype on livestreaming to reiterate why Samsung remains one of the eminent tech brands globally today.
