A 75-hour charity speedrunning festival called SpeeDons 2024 ran from February 29th to March 3rd. It aimed to raise funds for the international humanitarian non-profit organization Médecins du Monde, which provides medical assistance to those in need worldwide.
During SpeeDons 2024, speedrunners from France and other countries livestreamed dozens of games, ranging from classic franchises like Donkey Kong, Sonic, and Super Mario, to relatively new ones like Baldur's Gate III. The event took place at the Lyon Convention Center, allowing attendees to watch all games live on a big screen. In total, SpeeDons organizers managed to raise €2 066 663 thanks to donations and merchandise sales.
The official broadcast of SpeeDons 2024 aired on MisterMV's Twitch channel. It generated nearly 3.3M Hours Watched and attracted 93.9K Peak Viewers. This marked the second-highest result in the history of MisterMV's channel. The only time he managed to gather more viewers was in March 2023 when he streamed another SpeeDons event, it was watched by 98.7K PV.
