On October 16, Twitch announced the introduction of Stories to the mobile app of the service. From now on, streamers can connect with their audience even without broadcasts. The company hopes that the tool will be highly appreciated by both content creators and their fans.
What are Stories on Twitch?
Stories are short video messages for followers that streamers will be able to upload to their profile while not streaming. In terms of functionality, Twitch Stories will be similar to Stories on Instagram, Telegram, or other social networks. These can be photos, short clips, or just text messages. With the help of Stories, streamers will be able to announce streams, share highlights from previous broadcasts, make giveaways, receive feedback from viewers, and so on.
Who can post Stories on Twitch?
Currently, only Partner and Affiliate streamers who have conducted at least one broadcast on Twitch within the last 30 days will be able to publish stories. This functionality is currently in the testing phase, but gradually more and more content creators will be connected to it.
Where can I watch Twitch Stories?
You can watch Stories only in the Twitch mobile app, on the profile of the streamer who published them. According to the administration, when a story is published, followers of a channel will receive a push notification on their smartphone or tablet screen. Viewers will be able to customize the number and type of these notifications themselves or disable them altogether. Twitch stories will be available for 48 hours instead of 24, like on other social networks.

Can Twitch viewers interact with streamers via Stories?
Yes, viewers will be able to react to the posted stories by liking them or using classic Twitch emotes. They will also be able to choose options in the streamer's suggested polls, such as selecting the next game for a broadcast, etc. Streamers themselves will have access to statistics on the Stories, even those that were deleted after 48 hours. This data will help understand which posts have generated the most active reactions from viewers.
Will there be exclusive Twitch Stories?
Yes! Streamers with at least 30 subscribers (including gifted subscriptions) will be able to create exclusive content only for their subscribers. Subscribers will also have access to custom emotes, additional badges, and ad-free viewing. Streamers can motivate their viewers to subscribe to their channel more often with the help of this feature.
Are there any restrictions for Twitch Stories?
According to the platform administration, Stories will be subject to the same rules and community principles as streams. This means the same user agreement will apply, with all its rules, recommendations, and content creator limitations.
Currently, the Stories feature is undergoing testing, but the platform is already working on some new additions. For example, streamers will be able to tag other Twitch users or streamers in their posts. To ensure you don't miss out on all the new features, administrators recommend always updating the mobile app to the latest version.
