Stream for Humanity raises over €1.6M after taking over Twitch

Stream for Humanity raises over €1.6M after taking over Twitch

From November 14 to 16, French streamers hosted the Stream For Humanity 2025 charity marathon to support nonprofits combating hunger in Africa. Dozens of popular content creators participated, spending the first days raising donations and entertaining audiences on live streams. On the final day, the event culminated with a charity football match at Paris’s Stade Jean-Bouin.

Together, the streamers raised over €1.6 million. Donations came both directly — each streamer had their own fundraising target — and through sales of special merchandise. Even after the marathon wrapped up, fundraising is still ongoing. You can find more information about the campaign on the organizers’ page.

To support the event, Twitch created a dedicated Stream For Humanity category where all marathon streams were featured. Over the three days, the category accumulated more than 5.1 million Hours Watched and ranked as the eighth most-watched category on Twitch during that period.

The Stream For Humanity category on Twitch peaked at roughly 363,485 concurrent viewers, making it the fourth most-watched category on the platform. The numbers could have been even higher, since some participating streamers split their broadcasts between Just Chatting and various game categories rather than staying exclusively in the event category.

The top streamer of Stream For Humanity 2025 was Mohamed “aminematue” Mahmoud, one of the marathon’s main organizers. His broadcast peaked at around 363,000 live viewers, marking his second-biggest stream of the year. Funnily enough, his No. 1 stream in 2025 also happened during the first Stream For Humanity marathon back in January.

Rounding out the top three in peak viewership were Lucas “Squeezie” Hauchard and Kamel “kamet0” Kebir — two major figures in French livestreaming and the co-owners of Gentle Mates and Karmine Corp. Corentin “Gotaga” Houssein and Miguel “Michou” Mattioli also joined the event, but narrowly missed breaking into the top ten.

The centerpiece of the marathon was the charity football match between teams led by aminematue and kamet0, featuring the streamers themselves along with their friends and colleagues. The Stade Jean-Bouin opened its doors to anyone who wanted to attend, and several thousand fans showed up to watch. The match was all about fun, with quirky rules added to spice up the show. At one point, for example, kamet0 was chained to another streamer, forcing the two to run around the field as a pair.

As a reminder, back in January 2025, the same group of French streamers hosted the very first Stream For Humanity marathon, raising funds for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). That broadcast attracted even more viewer attention, ultimately bringing in over €3.5 million in donations.
