Twitch streamer Evan_Gao has set to zero all of his channel's progress in one click. On his broadcast, Evan launched the "CommanderRoot" bot to clear his followers list from bots (not real viewers). However, the guy forgot to set the right commands in the app and accidentally deleted all the followers on his channel.
"CommanderRoot" bot not only removes followers, but also bans accounts. So Evan banned six thousand followers on Twitch. The clip of the fatal mistake got 130K views, and users on many social networks supported the guy and re-followed him.
Over the past 30 days, the streamer's broadcasts drew 63 Average Viewers, but on the day of the incident, the number of spectators reached 4,5K Peak Viewers. In just three days (January 21-24), 7,8K people followed Evan_Gao's channel. So the situation played into the streamer's hands, because he got a new audience and media coverage, despite the fact that he had no streams since January 21.
