The recent Battlefield 6 open betas and early access periods have taken the gaming scene by storm since August 7. On Steam, the game reached over 500,000 concurrent players during these betas, and even more viewers tuned in concurrently to the playtest. North American streamer Timothy “TimTheTatman” Betar was the core beneficiary of this wave of viewership, recording over 200,000 Peak Viewers (PV) and millions of hours watch time.
TimTheTatman is a popular creator from the United States who has been streaming on Twitch since 2012. The variety streamer has focused largely on shooters like Counter-Strike, Fortnite, and others, building him a strong reputation among fans of these games on Twitch. He moved to YouTube with an exclusive contract in 2021, but has since returned to Twitch and now multistreams to both platforms.

Tim kicked off the action on the first day of the Battlefield 6 early-access period. Access to this early playtest from August 7-8 was available through Twitch Drops, meaning hundreds of thousands flocked to the purple platform to try and secure their key. As one of the top streamers to stream the game early on and stick to it, Tim generated massive viewership throughout the entire early-access period.
With almost 150,000 Average Viewers tuning in across 16 hours of total broadcasting time, Tim’s first stream was a major success. With the exclusivity of this early access tied to Twitch Drops, various streamers enjoyed significant boosts to their viewership for the beta. Top streamers who participated in the early access included Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, Rubén “Rubius” Doblas, and Jaryd “summit1g” Lazar, but few matched the commitment of Tim’s 16 hours.

Most watched and popular Twitch channels, Aug 4-10
For the entire week, Tim was the most-watched channel on Twitch and the leading creator by Peak Viewers. During the week, with a large portion of his total coming from his Battlefield 6 streams, he received 2,880,000 Hours Watched (HW).
Well over 80% of his total watch time came from his first early access stream, which also reached 207,744 PV: this marks the highest viewership that Tim has received since returning to Twitch in late-2024. For his YouTube multistream on August 7, he also received another 24,750 PV on the red platform.
On the back of this, Tim also streamed the next day of the early access; however, he was live for a much shorter amount of time and ended the playtest with roughly 77,000 Peak Viewers for this second stream. With the support of shooter fans around the world and a boost from Twitch Drops, the long-time veteran American streamer recorded his top peak viewership since 2020.
