Streams Charts has compiled a ranking of the most popular American Twitch and YouTube streamers in Q1 2023. The list includes many shooter and battle royale content creators, but they didn't get the top spots at all.

This article was prepared in collaboration with HyperX

Kai Cenat became the most popular American streamer on Twitch in Q1 2023  in the first three months of this year, his channel accumulated 52.4 million Hours Watched. According to this metric, he surpassed his closest pursuer in the regional ranking by 2.5 times.

It is worth mentioning that Kai became the most popular streamer on the platform not only among Americans, but among all content creators. He achieved such incredible success thanks to the Mafiathon he held in February the streamer broadcast nonstop for 28 days to reach 300K subscribers. As a result, he not only reached his goal, but even exceeded it, setting a record on the platform.

The Top is full of shooter fans, but Kai Cenat beat them all

Tarik, a former professional CS:GO player and currently the most popular Valorant community caster, is in second place. In the first quarter of the year, he racked up nearly 21 million Hours Watched mainly thanks to his coverage of tournaments like LOCK//IN Sao Paulo, VCT Challengers and other events.

HasanAbi, a popular American streamer in the Just Chatting category, takes third place in the ranking. In the first quarter, his channel accumulated 19.3 million Hours Watched. On his broadcasts, HasanAbi often discusses political and world news with viewers, as well as various high-profile news events.

Summit1g accumulated 16.2 million HW in the first quarter and ranks fourth among U.S. Twitch streamers. He spent most of his time playing Escape from Tarkov and DayZ.

Loltyler1, a popular League of Legends streamer known for his eccentric behavior on air, rounds out the Top 5. In Q1 2023, his channel accumulated 13.3 million HW. Loltyler1 mostly streamed his ranked matches on various League of Legends servers. His fans especially liked the streams when he played on the European servers.

Zackrawrr (Asmongold's second channel), LVNDMARK, LIRIK, scump and NICKMERCS are in the second half of the quarterly ranking. The difference between their channels was relatively small. Zackrawrr actively played the Diablo IV beta, while LVNDMARK and LIRIK played Escape from Tarkov during the New Year event when there was a giveaway of drops.

As for scump and NICKMERCS, the former actively covers Call of Duty: MW2 tournaments and the latter is a popular community caster of Apex Legends championships. In the first quarter of the year, they racked up 9 million and 8.3 million HW, respectively.

IShowSpeed showed a very fast speed

IShowSpeed became the most popular American YouTube Gaming streamer in Q1 2023. The fun and noisy content creator racked up 8.5 million HW on the channel. During the broadcasts, IShowSpeed mainly broadcasts IRL content and various video games, including FIFA, Grand Theft Auto V and Rocket League.

TimTheTatman, one of the most popular shooter streamers on YouTube, comes in second place. In Q1, he gained 7.5 million HW on the channel mainly thanks to the Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Fortnite broadcasts.

DrDisRespect is in third place with 6.25 million HW. In Q1, he mostly streamed Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, Fortnite and other shooters. The battle royale games are DrDisRespect's domain, where he feels very confident.

Ludwig was very active in early 2023 and racked up 4.5 million. His channel has hosted several entertainment and esports events like the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational in Valorant or Ludwig Streamer Wars in Apex Legends.

DrLupo rounds out the Top 5 with 3.37 million HW. He also streamed a lot at the beginning of the year, so he barely had two weeks of no Airtime for the entire quarter. Most of the time, DrLupo played in Escape from Tarkov. And sometimes he played together with other famous streamers, like DrDisRespect.

KreekCraft, Valkyrae, Swagg, Sykkuno and fuslie are in the second half of the ranking. KreekCraft's channel got over 3 million HW in Roblox. Valkyrae and Sykkuno played a lot of Minecraft and Valorant, which resulted in almost 2.5 million and 2.1 million HW, respectively.

As for Swagg, he racked up 2.3 million HW in the first three months of the year thanks to the Call of Duty: Warzone streams. As for fuslie, she played various titles, from Valorant to Hogwarts Legacy. In total, her channel accumulated 1.5 million HW.
