To get a deeper insight into the preferences of the biggest language groups on Twitch, Streams Charts continues to provide the quarterly analysis of each group’s respective viewership results. In Q3 2021, Portuguese ranked as the third most prevalent language group on Twitch by Hours Watched, following English and Spanish.
This article analyses the viewership results of the Top 100 Portuguese-speaking Twitch streamers during the third quarter of 2021 (July-September). Studio and gaming community channels were excluded from these statistics.
Just like in the case of English and Spanish-speaking streamers, Portuguese-speaking content creators too saw a decline in viewership in recent months. During Q3 2021, the Top 100 Portuguese-speaking Twitch streamers generated 211.6M Hours Watched, which makes 3.67% of total HW (5.75BN) accumulated on the platform and 48.65% of total HW (434.9M) generated by all Portuguese-speaking Twitch streamers in Q3 2021.
That said, the drop in their Hours Watched during Q3 2021 was the lowest out of said three language groups, with only a 14.7% decline in HW compared to the previous quarter. The total Air Time of the Top 100 in Q3 2021 accounted for 63.6K hours, showing an 8.58% decrease in Air Time. Note that this is the highest Air Time contribution out of the top three language groups.

The predominance of male streamers within the Top 100 is characteristic for all of the mentioned language groups, but both Portuguese and Spanish-speaking groups saw an increase in the number of female creators within the Top 100 in Q3 2021, signalling the rising popularity of female streamers among Portuguese and Spanish-speaking audiences.
