Streams Charts continues to recap 2022 on Twitch. In the new article, we will tell you which streamers have become the most watched on the platform, what were the memorable moments of their broadcasts, and how the ranking has changed compared to the last year.
Felix xQc Lengyel became the most-watched streamer of the year on Twitch for the third year in a row. In 2022, the Canadian spent more than 3.29K hours on the air and during this time generated more than 224.45M Hours Watched. In addition, this year the streamer set a Peak Viewers record for his channel. This happened during the April broadcast of the Overwatch 2 closed beta testing, which was followed by 330K Peak Viewers.
Alexandre Gaules Borba continues to hold the second spot in the rating for the third year in a row. In 2022, the Brazilian creator generated over 161.3M Hours Watched, with almost 8.7M hours spent on air (the highest in the top 10). Gaules is widely known for broadcasting CS:GO tournaments. During the elimination match between Imperial Esports and Cloud9 at PGL Major Antwerp 2022, the Brazilian's stream was visited by more than 707.6K Peak Viewers, which became a new record for the channel.
Spanish streamer Ibai ibai Llanos climbed from the fourth spot to third in the ranking. The creator spent almost 1.3 hours on the air and during this time generated 108.97M Hours Watched. In 2022, Ibai also broke the Peak Viewers record for both his channel and Twitch as a whole. This happened during his boxing event LA VELADA DEL AÑO II, which was followed by more than 3.35M Peak Viewers. In addition, Ibai became the Esports Awards Streamer of the Year and gained 10M followers.
Another Spanish creator, Raul auronplay Alvarez, lost one position in the ranking and finished fourth at the end of the year. In 2022, the streamer spent more than a thousand hours on the air and during this time generated about 101.2M Hours Watched. Auronplay also set a Peak Viewers record for its channel, with almost 603K Peak Viewers watching his broadcast of the Squidcraft Games event.
The American streamer HasanAbi rounds out the Top 5 with 81.6 million Hours Watched. His most popular broadcast in 2022 has ranked in the Top 4 of the channel's history, attracting almost 154.3K Peak Viewers. During this broadcast the streamer discussed the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The Japanese streamer fps_shaka, who entered the Top 10 most watched Twitch streamers of the year for the first time, is in sixth place in the ranking. It should be noted that his HW gap from HasanAbi is very small, even though he had almost 1.3K hours of Airtime. The creator played Valorant a lot, but also covered tournaments in this discipline in 2022. At the end of the year, he also managed to renew the channel's record for Peak Viewers — his December broadcast of Ark: Survival Evolved was watched by almost 78.3K PV.
Asmongold failed to enter the top 10 in 2021 but already ranked seventh in 2022. At the same time, he was not so far behind HasanAbi and fps_shaka by Hours Watched. The streamer also updated his channel's Peak Viewers record, having gathered over 451.6K Peak Viewers. This happened on June 1, during the announcement of the verdict in the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
Another new addition to the top 10 Twitch streamers of the year is Trainwreckstv. The American creator generated more than 90% of his total Hours Watched in 2022 on broadcasts in the Slots category. It should be reminded that associated with it was the autumn scandal when popular streamers called for fighting the increased popularity of gambling on the platform. As a result, Twitch banned streaming from casino sites that are not licensed in the US and other countries. Because of this, Trainwreckstv and other gambling creators switched to streaming casinos on the new Kick.com platform.
The ninth spot of the ranking was occupied by tarik, who also became a newcomer to the top 10. The former e-sportsman's Hours Watched in 2022 more than quadrupled from his 2021 figure. This growth was mainly because Tarik has become the most popular community caster of Valorant tournaments. His most popular broadcast of the year attracted over 196K Peak Viewers, setting a new record for the channel. This happened during the Sentinels match against The Guard in the North America Last Chance Qualifier.
The top 10 is rounded out by German streamer Elias eliasn97 Nerlich with 68.2M Hours Watched. Note that it could easily be outside the top ten most viewed platform creators, because summit1g and KaiCenat collected just a few less HW.
