When looking at the success and popularity of streamers on different platforms, the most trusted way to rank them is by the number of followers they have or how well their streams are doing in terms of viewers. However, a few other often-forgotten methods exist, one of which is to calculate the number of subscribers these content creators have.
Also, these subs lead to a certain amount of income generated, alongside another such source, labeled as bits. As old habits die hard, Streams Charts has done some homework and ranked the top ten content creators by these two metrics for the second quarter of 2023.
Top Twitch streamers based on number of subscriptions gained during Q2 2023
The only broadcaster to cross the 200K subscribers gained mark in Q2 this year is ironmouse, earning an estimated $509K as a result. The record-breaking VTuber continues to enthrall audiences with the quality of her content, which has also seen her bring on board 97K new followers during this period
Second is another American, Jynxzi, who has been able to rise up the rankings after becoming exceptionally well-known for his Rainbow Six Siege streams. In fact, in April, he became the most subscribed-to content creator on the platform, thanks to the success of his TikTok videos, which have managed to attract many users to his Twitch channel. Next is Gaules, perhaps the name in the Brazilian Twitch scene today thanks to his regular broadcast of all things CS:GO (and CS2 to an extent).
XQc comes in the fourth spot, despite leaving the purple platform at the end of June for Kick, where he has continued breaking viewership records. Rounding off the podium is eliasn97, the German content creator known for his entertaining broadcasts and shows with other streamers, which also helped him make the top ten most-watched Twitch streamers list for Q2 2023.
Coming in sixth is HasanAbi, who gained 92K subs in the second quarter of the year. A specialist in the Just Chatting section, he often discusses the latest global news, politics, and scandals involving media stars, giving him a passionate and dedicated following. Following him in seventh is the Italian Tumblurr, another renowned IRL content creator who often partners with other streamers and social media influencers. However, it was his live coverage of sports, like chess events and Italian football team Roma’s run to the Europa League final, that helped him gain more eyeballs and subs.
French superstar ZeratoR is in the eighth spot, having also made the list of fastest-growing Twitch streamers in Q2 2023. In ninth is KaiCenat, who topped this list for the first quarter of the year, thanks to the incredible success of his then ongoing subathon, dubbed the 'mafiathon.' The last name on these top ten standings is MontanaBlack88, another German adept at broadcasting in the Just Chatting and gaming categories.
Top Twitch streamers by bits during Q2 2023
Rating using bits varies from the default metrics, with one trend being that it's more common to have female streamers getting higher numbers from viewers. Moreover, lesser-known creators tend to be beneficiaries more often than not of these ‘acts of kindness’ from users. Lastly, readers must note that Bits are sometimes involved in strange activities, more details about which can be read here.
This top ten table is headed by StankRat_, who received 5M bits over the second quarter of 2023, helping him make around $50K. Having entirely played Escape from Tarkov recently, the American was able to edge past Shylily, who got 4.9M bits and pocketed $49K. The German is another regular in the Just Chatting genre, while FINAL FANTASY XVI is the game she fancies the most.
Third is The_Salma from Egypt, another regular of the Just Chatting segment who also creates content on games like Codenames and Farlight 84. Following her is Nagzz21, who has played a lot of Mario Party Superstars, apart from his regular IRL streams. In fifth is GernaderJake, a popular Destiny 2 broadcaster who is also known to stream gameplay of famous games like Diablo IV and Halo Infinite.
Kyootbot, an American known for her Just chatting videos, is sixth, with her countrywoman GP_TV in seventh. The latter has delved a bit into the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches genre, apart from her regular IRL and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor haunts. Albeees is eighth, thanks to devoting his time to playing games from legendary franchises like FINAL FANTASY and The Legend of Zelda.
Second to last is the German LostKittn, who is known for her broadcasts in the Food & Drink genre, while her go-to activity is from the Just Chatting section. In tenth is FoKa with 3.1M bits, with the Saudi Arabian content creator making $31K mostly thanks to his IRl videos, while he also plays games like Valorant, Business Tour, and Only Up!
