Trovo, the video game live-streaming service owned by Tencent, has officially announced that it will cease all operations on June 30, 2026. The decision marks the end of a six-year journey for the platform, which initially launched in 2020 as a major competitor to Twitch and YouTube Live.
Trovo is shutting down?
According to an official statement, the Trovo administration has outlined upcoming changes to the platform's operations and addressed frequently asked questions:
I. Schedule for Feature Adjustments
To ensure you are fully informed, we will proceed according to the following timeline:
April 1, 2026: Effective from the release of this announcement, updates for live streaming-related features will cease, the onboarding service for new streamers will be suspended, and the purchase functions for Subscriptions and ACE will be closed.
June 30, 2026, 00:00 (GMT+8): The entry point for the live streaming module will be officially closed, and all live streaming services will cease at that time.
Note: Prior to the shutdown date, you can still watch live streams and consume "Spell" items normally. After the shutdown, any remaining Elixir in your account can still be used within our platform games.
II. User Assets and Credits
We highly value your investment, and your account rights will be fully protected:
Elixir Assets: Recharged but unconsumed Elixir will remain valid. You can continue to use them in Trovo’s mini-games to purchase game items. If you require a refund, you may submit a request via "Personal Center - Help & Feedback" before August 31, 2026. Once verified, we will refund the unconsumed Elixir balance .
Gems Assets: If you hold Gems, they remain valid, and our withdrawal (cash-out) services will continue to be maintained.
Expired Subscriptions & Unused Paid Spells: If you have active paid subscriptions that extend beyond the shutdown date or unused paid Spells, we will credit your account with an equivalent amount of Elixir.
III. Data Migration and Security Statement
Account Information: Your Trovo account, mini-game data, levels, and social relations (friend lists) will be fully retained; no additional action is required.
