Trymacs’ NoFood Challenge brings together thousands of German viewers

Trymacs’ NoFood Challenge brings together thousands of German viewers
Share:

Popular streamer Trymacs recently completed the NoFood Challenge on Twitch, where he and some other German internet personalities went without eating for seven days. The task was made harder by the fact that guests would appear on the broadcast preparing and eating various delicacies in front of the challengers, who also had to cook food for their visitors on occasion.

The only thing participants were allowed was to drink water, with a pinch of salt when necessary, while they were also handed out punishments and absurd tasks. As the days went on, Trymacs & Co found it harder to perform small tasks that require motor skills and concentration due to a gradual decline in their body response times.

This week-long fasting exercise attracted millions of viewers, helping Trymacs climb the Twitch charts to become the most popular content creator in terms of Hours Watched (4.41M) during the NoFood Challenge’s run (March 11 to 18). He also registered a massive 849K Authorized Viewers over an audience size of 1.04 million.

This starvation challenge, where Trymacs and his buddies were live 24/7, came about after he was set a bet by his chat. The popular broadcaster is known to come up with crazy ideas and activities for his streams, having previously participated in a survival show in the icy clutches of Finland and fought for survival, even eating deer excrement to sustain himself.

In fact, during their stream on March 17, one of the challengers ended up tipping the smoke detector in Trymacs’ penthouse while cooking steak. They even filmed the fire brigade and ambulance approach their residence, with the streamer having to apparently shell out €8K to keep himself and his friends out of trouble.

Another incident that happened during the challenge was when one of the participants, LetsHugo, started feeling unwell. This led to an emergency doctor intervening and causing him to abandon the activity, which was soon followed by two others quitting in double-quick time.

Trymacs’ journey over the eight days peaked on the last day, March 18, which was the finale of the entire exercise. It did 76K Peak Viewers, becoming the only day to go above the 70K mark. Such was its popularity that it outdid the LCS' peak game between Team Liquid and EG, which is no easy feat.

As with every broadcasting activity that lasts days and focuses on uninterrupted streaming, Trymacs’ streams had quite an active chat that was not afraid to voice its opinions and concerns. The NoFood Challenge did 535K total messages and had 70K Active Chatters for a message per chatter rate of 7.6. There were 67 Cheer Chatters and 89 Cheer Messages for a solid engagement rate of 8%, while he also earned $188 from bits after spending 18K Total Bits.

It was a successful eight days for Trymacs and his Twitch friends, and if word is to be believed, he has already decided on his next challenge. It will last five days and involve him eating as much as possible to gain weight, the opposite of the NoFood Challenge. It remains to be seen when and if he sets off on that exercise and what the rules and parameters would be.
