Twitch in October 2025: dynamics, top games and streamers

Twitch in October 2025: dynamics, top games and streamers
Share:

Racing events, marathons, and world-class esports: October 2025 had everything Twitch fans could ask for. GP Explorer 3 drew millions, the FaZe Subathon 2.0 kept viewers hooked for weeks, and LoL Worlds 2025 once again proved why it’s the biggest event in competitive gaming.

In October, Twitch channels collectively racked up about 1.36 billion hours of watch time, nearly the same as the previous month. The number of active channels and unique games streamed saw a slight uptick.

League of Legends jumped 30% in October viewership compared to the previous month, though the game’s overall ranking stayed the same. The surge was fueled by coverage of the 2025 World Championship, the biggest international tournament of the season. Minecraft also performed well, with watch hours up 59% and the game climbng three spots in the rankings. This boost came from the CRAFTATTACK streaming marathon, hosted by top German creators like Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller, Elias “eliasn97” Nerlich and Bastian “BastiGHG”.

The biggest shake-up in the rankings came from Dota 2, which fell four spots. In September, Valve’s title climbed into the top three thanks to The International 2025, but by October, Dota 2 had settled back into its usual place in the lower half of the top 10.

One standout performer was Battlefield 6. The new entry in EA’s iconic franchise launched on October 10, and it had broken into the Twitch rankings in less than a month, outperforming EA Sports FC 26 and Fortnite.

There were a few shake-ups among Twitch’s most popular genres. Action solidified its lead, gaining about 3% over September. Shooter and Adventure traded places, as did RPG and IRL. The biggest jump in the top 10 came from the Open World category, which grew roughly 10% month over month.

Horror and Stealth didn’t break into the top 10, but both genres saw impressive growth in October: up roughly 30-33% in viewership. The surge was largely fueled by horror game streams and Halloween marathons, which peaked in popularity toward the end of the month.

British streamer Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont topped Twitch in November, racking up nearly 13.2 million hours of watch time thanks to his coverage of the 2025 World Championship.

Several FaZe streamers claimed spots in the rankings after hosting the month-long Subathon 2.0 in October. The marathon featured tons of guests, IRL events and collaborative gaming sessions. Jason “jasontheween” Nguyen, Nick “Lacy” Fosco, Rani “stableronaldo” Netz and Joshua “yourragegaming” all broke into the rankings.

French streamer and racing enthusiast Lucas “Squeezie” Hauchard secured a spot in the top three. Early in the month, he hosted GP Explorer 3, a live racing event where popular creators faced off on the track. The broadcast drew massive attention, earning Squeezie more than 10.3 million hours of watch time.

The most-popular channel in October was Squeezie’s. His GP Explorer 3 broadcast hit a peak of over 1.36 million live viewers, setting a new all-time record for his channel.

Kai Cenat appeared in the October rankings almost by accident: the stats included a small portion of his last stream, MAFIATHON 3, which he co-hosted with LeBron James. The broadcast began on September 30 but wrapped up after midnight. After Mafiathon 3, Kai took a break and hasn’t streamed for more than a month.

Caedrel, Ibai “ibai” Llanos and Riot Games all made the rankings thanks to their coverage of the 2025 World Championship, while the official Valorant channel drew major viewership during Valorant Champions 2025.

Emily Beth “Emiru” Schunk has held the top spot among Twitch’s most popular female streamers by average viewership for several months running. In October, her average audience grew another 3%, reaching 19,000 live viewers. Interestingly, despite the increase, Emiru actually cut her total streaming time by roughly a third compared to the previous month.

Other female creators who saw strong growth included Maghla from France and Imane “Pokimane” Anys from Canada. Maghla’s average viewership jumped 87% in October: she mainly streamed in the Just Chatting category, as well as covered GP Explorer 3 and several reality shows. Pokimane’s average viewership also climbed 37%, boosted in part by her appearance at GP Explorer 3, which she attended in person.
