Update from September 2nd: Viewership stats of Twitch Rivals MultiVersus Season 1 Kick-off

Original article from August 30th

Twitch Rivals has announced that MultiVersus, the recently released fighting crossover game from Warner Bros that has gathered a lot of attention, will gain its own tournament.

Since its release, MultiVersus has become one of the most played fighting games on the streaming platform, and in general, the game has already more than 10 million players.

This is the first time that MultiVersus will feature in Twitch Rivals. The tournament will take place on the 31st of August, and will have a prize pool of $75,000.

Players from EMEA, NA, and LATAM regions will take part in the tournament. Teams of two content creators will battle each other. Since each region will receive a portion of the full prize, we will see sixteen teams per region fighting for $25K. In total, the event will have forty-eight teams and ninety-six creators.

It's going to be the first time the game shows up on Twitch Rivals, but it will be the first of many, since the game has been a huge success on the platform. In the month of August, it has an average of 14K concurrent viewers, and in July saw 183K simultaneous viewers

The game is sitting in forty-six place on the Twitch chart, above the fighting game Super Smash Bros Ultimate, which is a direct competitor of MultiVersus. It's also ahead of Madden NFL 23, Gran Turismo 7, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Among Us, in the last seven days.

Some of the biggest streamers on the platform have spent hundreds of hours playing the game since its release. In the last thirty days, Rubius has 161K HW, Kamet0 fans have watched 201K hours of the streamer playing the fighting game, while alanzoka fans have watched 125k hours of the streamer entertaining them with MultiVersus gameplay.

Schedule

  • NA: 2 pm PT (August 31)
  • LATAM: 1 pm PT (August 31)
  • EMEA: 8 am PT (August 31)
