After a gap of two years, the Twitch community was able to come together physically once again for the semi-annual gaming convention, TwitchCon, in Amsterdam and San Diego in 2022. It was quite the spectacle to see people personally interacting, networking, and sharing their love for gaming once again, and fans can’t wait for the 2023 versions to kick off.
Speaking of the new year, Twitch just announced that this year’s TwitchCon events will be held in two new cities, as the company looks to connect with and celebrate streamers and their communities in 2023:
-
TwitchCon Paris will be the first time that France will host the event, and it will emanate from the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles on July 8 and 9.
-
The North America show will debut in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Las Vegas Convention Center on October 20 and 22.
Those looking forward to heading to these IRL extravaganzas can even book their stays for TwitchCon Paris and/or TwitchCon Las Vegas via the organization’s partner site to save themselves the hassles of having to find a place to crash during the show. Also, those interested in sharing what they want to see at TwitchCon or submitting their ideas to participate should keep up to date with when the TwitchCon “Call for Content” goes live.
The first of last year’s events was held in Amsterdam at the RAI Convention Centre from July 16 to 17. It was the first in-person show in two years as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. It consisted of these events: Community Meet-Ups, Twitch Rivals, Meet & Greets, Loot Cave, Chat Badge, and Swag Bag.
The second show of the year, TwitchCon San Diego 2022, was held at Convention Center between October 7 and 9. The same events as Amsterdam were held, and despite some criticism from fans, the presence of artists like Meet Me at The Altar, Kim Petras, and Megan Thee Stallion ensured the exercise ended up getting good media coverage.
In an intriguing end to the event, Twitch broke tradition by not announcing the venue for 2023’s TwitchCon North America event during the closing ceremony.
