The ultimate Counter-Strike case opening: $590,000 and 294K Peak Viewers

The ultimate Counter-Strike case opening: $590,000 and 294K Peak Viewers

Money has long been one of the main ingredients for creating viral content. Streamers and influencers often grab attention by flaunting cash, this time they pairing it with another crowd favorite — high-stakes gambling. On July 11, Matthew ‘’Nadeshot’’ Haag, Timothy ‘’TimtheTatman’’ Betar, Mark ‘’ohnePixel’’ Zimmermann, and ArrowCS went live, opening Counter-Strike cases worth more than $590,000. According to our Streams Charts livestreaming statistics, the event drew hundreds of thousands of viewers across multiple platforms.

This massive unboxing event — one of the biggest ever streamed — was made possible in large part by a single high-end collector, Megalodon888, who supplied thousands of rare cases. Initially, he provided around $240,000 worth of cases, but as the stream gained momentum, viewers kept sending in more. By the end, the total value of the case-opening marathon had climbed to nearly $590,000.

It took the four streamers more than ten hours on air to open all the cases, but their returns were underwhelming. According to TheCSTimes, despite spending $590,000 on cases, they only pulled about $100,000 worth of in-game items. The most valuable drop was a Katowice 2014 Team Dignitas (Holo) sticker, worth $24,000, which landed in TimTheTatman’s inventory.

Nadeshot ended up being the unluckiest of the bunch, pulling just $9,300 worth of in-game items from roughly $95,000 worth of cases. According to TheCSTimes, the overall financial loss from the marathon was estimated at around 83.05%.

Viewers were thrilled by the marathon, calling it one of the most striking examples of why spending time and money on Counter-Strike case openings just isn't worth it. Still, some argued the streamers just had bad luck, and that their haul was far below the typical average.

Altogether, Nadeshot, TimtheTatman, ArrowCS, and ohnePixel racked up around 2.6 million Hours Watched (HW). That made them the top Counter-Strike streamers on Twitch for the day.

During the case-opening streams, the four main participants averaged over 182,700 viewers, with peak concurrent viewership hitting 294,111. These numbers reflect only the primary channels of the four streamers and don’t include watch parties hosted by other creators who briefly restreamed parts of the event.

Among the four streamers, ohnePixel’s Twitch channel drew the biggest crowd. The German caster peaked at 148,030 concurrent viewers during his Counter-Strike case openings: making this his third most-watched stream of 2025. Nadeshot pulled in 51,948 viewers at his peak, marking his highest Twitch viewership since May 2021. ArrowCS hit a personal record as well, with a peak of 27,578 concurrent viewers.

The high-stakes case-opening marathon brought together top streamers, massive audiences, and jaw-dropping amounts of money — all for a thrill that, in the end, proved just how risky the gamble can be. Whether a cautionary tale or pure entertainment, it was a stream to remember.
