The VCT 2023 Game Changers season in North America started with an unexpected record. The first open qualifier became the most popular female Valorant tournament in the region, all thanks to the participation of Disguised GC, the popular streamer Disguised Toast's team. Tournament data provided by Esports Charts.
Disguised GC consisted of five female streamers: QuarterJade, Kyedae, Sydeon, TrulyTenzin, and ttupperware. All of them are well-known for their Valorant streams, and Kyedae is regularly among the top 10 female streamers on Twitch. Some of these players, including Disguised Toast himself, broadcasted the team's matches on their channels. Well-known content creators such as Valkyrae, Pokimane, and Sykkuno also followed the team's matches.

Regarding overall viewership of the event, the streamers had a crucial impact on it. Only 20% of the qualifiers' total Hours Watched were generated on official Twitch & YouTube channels of the tournament, while the rest was contributed by co-casters. Among them, Disguised Toast was the most viewed, but Valkyrae, Subroza, Pokimane, Sykkuno and many other content creators also contributed.
The team did not make it to the next stage, but thanks to them, the qualifier achieved impressive results in terms of viewership statistics. Secondly, the qualifier gathered more viewers than any female CS:GO tournament from ESL, DreamHack, or any other studio.

Immediately after the team's elimination from the qualifier, streamer Disguised Toast announced on Twitter that the team was disbanding "due to financial problems and role distribution." However, fans immediately recognized his words as a joke. Whether Disguised GC will continue to compete or remain a "one-tournament team" is unknown. It is worth noting that Disguised Toast also has a male Valorant team that plays in the Valorant Challengers division for North America.
