World of Warcraft Classic is an alternative version of the legendary MMORPG based on patch 1.12.1 (September 2006). The fans fell in love with it because of the old-school world, old mechanics, and the opportunity to immerse into that same atmosphere from more than ten years ago.

Blizzard promised to expand the main version with classic updates, the Burning Crusade expansion being the first among these, which go live on 2nd June. Originally being released in 2007, this expansion enriched the game with the first additional location (Outland) and two new races. We decided to check just how successful was the launch of this expansion on Twitch during first week after release (June 2-9, 2021).

We reviewed the results from the first week after the launch of The Burning Crusade on Twitch. The streams of the expansion occupied the World of Warcraft category. The launch day amassed 5.1M Hours Watched. On the second day, hours watched fell by 35% but starting from the third day the mark stabilized at the level of 2M hours watched.

English-speaking viewers were responsible for 67% of Hours Watched over the week, while 7.9% were brought by German-speaking fans, and the Hispanic viewers came in the third spot with 7.6%.
