EA Sports FC 24 continues to dominate Twitch charts, recently setting a new record with nearly 600K Peak Viewers. This achievement was greatly aided by a promotional campaign featuring Team of the Year cards for Ultimate Team, with the participation of numerous popular streamers.
Team of the Year is an annual event in the football simulator where fans vote for the best players of the year. Subsequently, developers release special enhanced cards for the selected players in Ultimate Team. This year, the first Team of the Year cards were introduced on January 19, starting with star forwards, followed by midfielders, and then defenders and goalkeepers.
The full list of Team of the Year players, along with categories such as 12th Players and Honourable Mentions, will only be revealed on February 2. However, the imminent release of these cards has already impacted the game's popularity on Twitch.
On January 19, when the first Team of the Year (TOTY) cards were revealed, the EA Sports FC 24 section garnered almost 600K Peak Viewers, marking a new record for the game. The football simulator claimed the top spot among all games in this regard during the day, surpassing Grand Theft Auto V, League of Legends, Counter-Strike, and the newly popular Palworld. Moreover, it even outperformed the IRL section Just Chatting, which typically leads in categories rankings.
Many popular Twitch streamers initiated broadcasts for FC 24, aiming to unveil TOTY cards alongside their viewers. The Spanish streamer DjMaRiiO attracted the largest audience, with over 91.2K Peak Viewers, setting a new personal record.
Among other popular streamers for FC 24, notable broadcasts came from the German creator GamerBrother and the American streamer runthefutmarket — their channels garnered 47.1K PV and 44.2K PV, respectively. Slightly fewer viewers tuned in to streams hosted by Castro_1021, TheGrefg, and eliasn97.
During the period from January 19 to 24, when all the main Team of the Year categories were released, the FC 24 section on Twitch accumulated 12 million Hours Watched. This is twice as much as during a comparable period before the release of TOTY cards. In terms of viewing hours, FC 24 secured the eighth position on Twitch, and it made it into the top four in terms of peak online viewership.
