We continue to summarize the streaming results for June 2022. In a new Streams Charts feature, we'll tell you how Facebook Gaming viewership statistics changed in the first month of summer, and name the most popular channels, categories, and languages over this period.
Facebook Gaming's viewership statistics changed significantly in June. The number of active channels on the platform dropped by 4%, Hours Watched fell by 11%, and Peak Viewers decreased by 40%. Moreover, only five May top's representatives remained in the top 10 most popular channels in June.
The most popular Facebook Gaming broadcast languages in June 2022
In June, Facebook Gaming's audience generated more than 149.5 million Hours Watched. The most popular language of broadcasts was Indonesian as it accounted for 13.6% of the total figure. Vietnamese and Tagalog contributed 12.9% and 12.4%, respectively. Arabic and Spanish also made it to the top 5 languages, they accounted for 11.7% and 11.6% of Hours Watched of the platform's total. English and Thai broadcasts accumulated 9.1% and 7.8%.
The most popular Facebook Gaming channels in June 2022
The top 1 streamer of the month was Filipino JunaX Gaming TV, who generated 1.27 million Hours Watched, streaming on Mobile Legends in the first 11 days of June alone. The previous month's leader, MPL Philippines moved down to second place, accumulating 28% fewer Hours Watched than in June. Meanwhile, the channel broadcast MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2022 matches and was on air for only eight days.
The Arabic channel عبسي لفترة محدودة with PUBG Mobile broadcasts rounded out the top 3. The channel was one of the newcomers in the top, and its viewers generated almost 1.2 million Hours Watched in June. Also in the top 5 were two other Arabic channels on PUBG Mobile — the top 3 streamer of May بلانة كيمنك Balana Gaming and newcomer Tarboun. They managed to accumulate 1.1 million and 1 million Hours Watched, respectively, for the month.
Vietnamese creator Chim Sẻ Đi Nắng was the only representative of the May top who managed to improve his figure. Streamer’s Hours Watched increased by almost 5%, so he rose from eighth to sixth place in the ranking.
Seventh place was occupied by the official Garena Liên Quân Mobile channel, which broadcasted many esports tournaments in June. Also in the top 10 were PUBG Mobile streamers: Jordanian Maherco gaming, Turkish إبن سوريا and Vietnamese Nam Blue.
The most popular Facebook Gaming categories in June 2022
While the top 10 Facebook Gaming channels changed by exactly half in June, the platform's most popular categories showed surprising stability. And the reason is not the fact that mobile games are still the base of the top.
Hours Watched of many categories sagged in June, but 9 of them retained their positions in the rankings. The only change was that Age of Empires took 10th place instead of Valorant, beating shooter Riot by Hours Watched by only 5%.
PUBG Mobile, the platform's most popular game, lost 12% of Hours Watched over the month. Mobile Legends and Grand Theft Auto V, both in the top 3, each lost 8% of their May total. Garena Free Fire and Arena of Valor's Hours Watched dropped by 18% and 10%, respectively.
CoD: Warzone lost 16% of its metric for the month, while CoD: Mobile's Hours Watched increased by 5%. Dota 2 was the biggest loser — MOBA lost 34% of its HW in June. Euro Truck Simulator 2 worsened its metric by only 5%.
