It is almost impossible to calculate the exact revenues of Twitch streamers, however, we can find some information about one source of income. Streams Charts recently added new functionality — now it is possible to find the Twitch sub count of paid subscriptions on a streamer and the approximate sum of money the creator made from them.

In this article, we will analyze how much money the service's most watched streamers got from subscriptions in Q1 2022.

It is worth noting that our calculations are not verified by the Twitch streamers themselves. We use our own methodology to determine the number of streamers' paid subscriptions and the numbers may not coincide with the original values.

The 10th spot in our ranking is taken by a streamer from Japan, fps_shaka. As his nickname implies, he mostly streams shooters. He is the most popular Twitch creator from Asia, who often covers shooters’ and 'battle royale' games’ esports matches (for example, this time he cast VCT 2022 Stage 1 Masters). In Q1 2022, fps_shaka accumulated 20 million Hours Watched and got more than 20K subscriptions in three months. Thirteen thousand of those subscriptions were Twitch Prime subscriptions, nearly 7K were Tier 1 subscriptions ($4.99), 26 were Tier 2 subscriptions ($9.99), and 38 were Tier 3 subscriptions ($24.99). Thus, his earnings in the Q1 ranged in between $39K and $52K.

In July 2020, Twitch introduced regional subscription pricing worldwide, and whereas a Tier 1 subscription used to be $5 everywhere, after July 2020, it can cost from $1.50 to $4 in some of the less-developed economic regions around the world. The new regional pricing policy did not affect residents of Japan, the U.S., Canada, Israel, and Switzerland.

On the ninth place is a Spanish-speaking streamer juansguarnizo, a native of Colombia, who gained popularity during the global COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020. Most of his content is GTA 5, Valorant, Fortnite and other "battle royale" games broadcasts. During January-March his TV shows amassed 20.5 million Hours Watched, and his channel got a total of 49K subscriptions, including 21K Twitch Prime subscriptions, 27K Tier 1 subscriptions, 88 Tier 2 subscriptions, and 52 Tier 3 subscriptions. In total, he earned between $74K and $123K dollars from that. In his home country a subscription costs $2, as it does in most Spanish-speaking Latin American countries, so the total is closer to $74K

In eighth place is elxokas from Madrid, who has recently been playing League of Legends and various "sandboxes". His channel accumulated 25 million Hours Watched in Q1 2022, and the total number of subscriptions was 95K. Among those, 69K were Twitch Prime subscriptions, 25K were Tier 1, 96 were Tier 2, and 126 were Tier 3 subscriptions. Thus, elxokas earned between $193,000 and $240,000 in the first three months of 2022. A subscription in Spain costs a little less than the standard $4. But we should also take into account the audience from Latin America, so the final sum is likely to be close to the median.

Seventh place belongs to HasanAbi, a content creator from the U.S.. He is a variety streamer who often covers the world's political news. As we can tell from his work, the main category of his streams is IRL discussion of the latest news in Just Chatting. Since January till March his broadcasts had 26 million Hours Watched and slightly fewer subscriptions than the previous participant in our ranking, 89K. Those include 42K Twitch Prime subscriptions, 47K Tier 1 subscriptions, 238 Tier 2 subscriptions and 160 Tier 3 subscriptions. He made between $141K and $225K. Based on the fact that his main audience is Americans, the total is more likely to be close to the maximum.

In sixth place is a Spanish streamer, YouTuber, and comedian — auronplay. He often plays GTA on his streams, or just interacts with viewers. In Q1 he accumulated 27 million Hours Watched. During January-March, he got 84K subscriptions, including 42K Twitch Prime subscriptions, 41K Tier 1 subscriptions, 145 Tier 2 subscriptions, and 79 Tier 3 subscriptions.  He made from $137K to $211K from that number of subscriptions.

A streaming veteran, Asmongold, who plays various MMORPGs most often, jumped into fifth place in the ranking. Asmongold returned to streaming on the main channel in February, so he got only 37K subscriptions: among them are 21K Twitch Prime subscriptions, 15K Tier 1 subscriptions, 47 Tier 2 subscriptions and 58 Tier 3 subscriptions. In Q1 2022, Asmongold earned between $65K and $92K from them.

Fourth place is taken by ibai, a Spanish streamer and showman. Between his exclusive interviews with Lionel Messi, ibai plays FIFA and GTA 5. In the past three months, his channel racked up 30 million Hours Watched and a total of 77K subscriptions: 58K Twitch Prime subscriptions, 19K Tier 1 subscriptions, 35 Tier 2 subscriptions and 13 Tier 3 subscriptions. In Q1, he earned from $159K to $194K

Trainwreckstv opens the Top 3 streamers by Hours Watched. An American streamer runs his own podcast, and he is particularly popular with viewers thanks to the gambling streams. In January-March, viewers spent more than 31 million hours watching his broadcasts, and the number of subscriptions at the end of Q1 was 119K: 33K Twitch Prime subscriptions, 85K Tier 1 subscriptions, 222 Tier 2 subscriptions and 219 Tier 3 subscriptions. In total, this brought him in from $148K to $301K

Second in the ranking is held by Gaules, a former Brazilian pro CS:GO player. The Brazilian esports legend streams full-time and covers CS:GO tournaments in Portuguese. His channel reached 36 million Hours Watched and in January-March he had 111K subscriptions, including 83K Twitch Prime, 27K Tier 1, 53 Tier 2 and 29 Tier 3 ones. Gaules earned from $229K to $275K in subscriptions in Q1 2022. We should note that in Brazil, the price of a Tier 1 subscription is just $1.69, so it's reasonable to assume that the actual sum is closer to $229K

And finally, our ranking leader is a Canadian streamer xQcOW. Felix Lengyel is a former professional Overwatch player. In the first three months of this year, he streamed GTA and IRL content more often. xQcOW is ahead of the second ranking place by almost twice as many Hours Watched, which is 63 million. The Canadian got over 174K subscriptions, more than half of which were Twitch Prime (102K), over 71K Tier 1, 433 Tier 2, and 275 Tier 3 subscriptions. In Q1 2022, xQcOW made from $310K to $440K from subscriptions.

To conclude, most of the subscriptions in North and South America are Twitch Prime ones: the reason for this popularity is that Twitch Prime subscriptions are included in the Amazon Prime subscription pack. This service is very popular in the United States and in North and Latin America. There are many more Tier 1 subscriptions for an obvious reason: not everyone would spend a lot of money to support his or her favorite streamer. In other words, Tier 2 and Tier 3 subscriptions are a symbolic expression of loyalty to the streamer from viewers with above-average incomes.

You can find all the latest statistics on any streamer's subscriptions in the subs tab of the streamer's profile. There you can also find detailed information about new subscriptions, re-subscriptions and gift subscriptions.
