In July, the viewers didn’t change their Twitch categories preferences, but the streamers top now has a totally different look. In our new article, Streams Charts will tell you about the most popular content makers and what viewers preferred to watch in July.
The most popular Twitch categories in July 2021
The top three Twitch categories have not changed since June: it’s Just Chatting, Grand Theft Auto V and League of Legends. At the same time, they all lost some part of their Hours Watched in comparison with the previous month. The Just Chatting section lost 4%, GTA V — 16%, and League of Legends — 8%.
Valorant moved one position up compared to June, but the reason is that Call of Duty: Warzone lost 14% HW compared to the previous month. Fortnite has also gained one position by collecting 2M Hours Watched more than in June.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive got a boost — the game climbed three spots up and gained 2 million HW more. The IEM Cologne 2021 tournament influenced the result, and you can learn about the stats of this event in this article.
Not everything is so good with Minecraft, the category fell two positions down and lost 25% HW.
World of Warcraft moved up one spot but lost 5M Hours Watched compared to June. The game stayed in our ranking because of the Race to World First. Famous WoW guilds had to finish the raid as quickly as possible to become #1 in the world. More details about RWF are in this article.
Apex Legends closes our top with 47M Hours Watched. We must note that the category was not included in the June top. At the same time, Dota 2 dropped out of the ranking. In June, it got the seventh position due to The International 10 qualifiers. But they ended, so viewers lost interest in the game.
The most popular streamers in July 2021
The male streamers’ top has changed significantly since June. First place was taken by Asmongold with 14 million HW, overtaking xQc for the first time in 2021. At the same time, Felix was on the air much longer than Zack: 236 hours vs. 170. Asmongold also distinguished himself with his content this month. He started playing FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, and the game got a lot of fame on the platform.
As for xQc, he was on air 65 hours less than in June, so his Hours Watched dropped 36%, thus he lost the lead.
The third place belongs to the Spanish streamer Loud_coringa with 12.8M Hours Watched. In July, Victor spent most of his time in GTA V — the category contributed 94% to his total Hours Watched number.
Gaules was on air 726 hours this month but lost two positions and 21% HW compared to June. IEM Cologne 2021, which he cast on his channel, helped him stay at the top.
ROSHTEIN took fifth place. Ismael Swartz devotes all his time on the broadcast to slots and online roulettes and amazes the audience with huge wins and reactions.
Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is a monthly leader among girls for the second time in a row. She has been on the air for 32 hours more this month, but her content has not changed.
In second place is the German streamer Antonia “RevedTV” Staab with 2.5 million Hours Watched. She’s in our top for the first time, Usually, she streams in the Just Chatting category, and her second category by Hours Watched is "I'm Only Sleeping.” The content corresponds to the name: in this section, people sleep on broadcasts. In addition, Antonia hosted a streamer marathon in July, where she was broadcast non-stop. This helped her to achieve such a result on the platform.
Saddummy from South Korea has lost one place in the ranking; her Hours Watched decreased by 11% compared to June though the girl’s Air Time hasn’t changed that much. Pokimane, the most popular female streamer in 2020, returned to the top. This month the girl focused on Rust — 47% of her Hours Watched.
Jinnytty closes the top five. She’s Korean but casts in English. Jinny mainly streams in the IRL category and shows subscribers her trips, and in July, she was on the air for 238 hours and got 1.4 million HW.
The official channel of GamesDoneQuick speedrun marathon is in the lead among organizations due to the event in July, which we talked about in this report. ESL_CSGO is in second place thanks to IEM Cologne 2021. The total Air Time of this channel is 564 hours.
Regional League of Legends leagues have started, so LCK (Korean League) and LEC (European) channels appeared at the top. The streamer community Fextralife is also in the ranking. Their content makers regularly try new games; thus, they’ve played New World, FINAL FANTASY XIV Online, Baldur's Gate 3, and other game titles this month.
The most popular broadcasts by Peak Viewers in July 2021
641K viewers watched the final of La Copa America 2021 football championship. It was broadcast on Ibai’s channel, which watched the tournament with the audience.
In second place was the TennoCon presentation, where the developers talked about the future of Warframe, massive add-ons, and the game’s mobile version. 438K viewers watched this showcase. Genshin Impact also hosted its showcase regarding new content, contests and characters on the official channel.
The top also includes Minecraft live streams, especially by the streamers from the DreamSMP. As for esports, CS:GO streams of IEM Season XVI and IEM Cologne 2021 appeared at the top.
