When Elden Ring first came out amidst some legendary hype in February 2022, some of its most talked-about (and praised) aspects were the combat and the fact that it had the best and most challenging boss battle in any FromSoftware game so far. However, this also means that the game is not for the weak-hearted or those looking for an easy Soulsborne game, as it challenges players unlike any other offering in more than one way, something Jynxzi found out the hard way.
The Twitch megastar had recently begun his version of the Elden Ring marathon that many top streamers hooked onto recently. However, three days in, he had had enough, and after 49 hours of playing this legendary RPG offering, he decided enough was enough, stating as he ended the live stream.
"Elden Ring has broken me as a man."
Jynxzi’s Elden Ring marathon was on air for a little more than 48 hours, with the live broadcasts doing 1.76M HW, 96K Peak Viewers, and 36.6K Average Viewers. If it is any consolation for the American, the stream from June 17 ended as his most watched ever while also becoming only the second on his channel to cross 1M HW.
The 22-year-old was unable to kill Godefroy the Grafted, an optional mini-boss found in the Altus Plateau at the Golden Lineage Evergaol. A relative of the optional boss Godrick the Grafted — a Demigod and a Shardbearer encountered in Stormveil Castle — he drops the Godfrey Icon when defeated.

What made things worse was the reaction to this sudden end to Jynxzi's pursuit to master one of the hardest games ever made by Kai Cenat. The latter responded to a post by his close friend on X (formerly Twitter) saying he won with three simple words: "I own you."
Readers must note that in May, the American youngster was able to complete the game despite minimal experience in ARPGs by beating some of its most difficult bosses across 167 hours, one week, and 1,700 deaths. It also helped Elden Ring recapture the attention of online gamers and viewers and climb up the Twitch rankings in terms of watch time and peak concurrent viewership.
These daily live broadcasts as part of his 100+ hour playthroughs also put Kai Cenat in second on a list of the best seven-day viewership streaks on the purple platform since 2023, only behind ibai. Last summer, the Spanish superstar amassed over 25.8M Hours Watched within a week mainly thanks to his live coverage of the boxing event La Velada del Año III, where he was the organizer and host.
The 22-year-old is seemingly not done with the game, as he posted an almost ten-minute trailer on social media hyping his next move. He will return to the game on June 21 to play the much-hyped expansion Shadow of the Erdtree, which will also be along the same 100+ hour marathon.
Soon after, Kai Cenat added during a live broadcast that he would also play other games during this lengthy activity. This list includes games like Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Bully, and the Dark Souls series, all names that have received praise from fans and critics for what they bring to the table in their genres.
Before we conclude, Jynxzi’s fans will be happy to note that he did clarify he will continue to play Elden Ring on stream, but it won't be as part of any marathon exercise. With Kai Cenat to return to the game via its DLC tomorrow, it remains to be seen how the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege creator reacts and if he decides to give it another shot anytime soon.
