Kai Cenat breaks Twitch subscribers record during Mafiathon 3

Kai Cenat breaks Twitch subscribers record during Mafiathon 3

Kai Cenat's Mafiathon continues to create moments and records that cement his legacy as one of Twitch's all timers. The third edition, which began on September 1 and will run until the end of the month, has met expectations so far, and that has aided the star streamer in setting a new subscribers milestone yet again.

Kai Cenat's success from the first two Mafiathons and their part in helping him break the all-time Twitch subscribers record means it is now almost a given that he will set a new mark with each iteration. That has turned out to be the case with the third Mafiathon as well, with the American reaching 742,678 active subscriptions on September 23.

This broke his previous record of 728,525 peak subs, reached during Mafiathon 2, which was started with the aim of getting this record back. Star VTuber ironmouse had set a new mark during her own subathon event a few weeks earlier, but Kai eclipsed it soon with his second subathon in the series.

The Mafiathon 3 has also had a big effect on livestreaming, putting the 23-year-old atop the list of the most-watched Twitch content creators this month. Even when looking at all the live broadcasting services, he is the number one in September while also safely enjoying a top 15 spot among channels for the entire year.

While the reputation of the subathon series itself is enough to warrant attention from the online community, it is what happens during these livestreams that has helped draw such massive audience numbers. Fun games and challenges, surprise celebrity appearances and vlogs of Kai Cenat's activities throughout the day have helped keep viewers engaged over the past three weeks plus.

Some of the standout moments so far include the New York native reuniting with Jidon "JiDionArmani Adams, hosting celebrity chef Nick DiGiovanni and taking a helicopter ride around Los Angeles. Kai even had Pat Monahan, the frontman of Train (remember Hey Soul Sister from 2009?), appear on a broadcast to help him push toward the magical mark of one million Twitch subscribers.

The second most-followed Twitch streamer even had The Chainsmokers and FaZe Kaysan "KaysanGhasseminejad turn his bathroom into a club while he was showering! Such entertaining content is what has endeared fans to Kai and will continue to play a big role in making him one of the Amazon-owned platform's iconic names.

Crucially, these subathons have become highly lucrative exercises from a monetary perspective for Kai Cenat. As per reports, his net worth now stands at a scarcely-believable $35 million, with activities like Mafiathon complemented by some direct and strategic business moves by Twitch sensation, like his recent Nike collaboration, which may have ended but gave him massive exposure and would surely have been a financial windfall.

Whether he gets there or not, Mafiathon 3 has already been a crazy ride for Kai Cenat and his fans. With a few more livestreams to come, if he can continue pulling off coups involving celebrities, that one million subs dream might just become a reality.

Streams Charts will continue to keep an eye on this popular subathon and report on any interesting developments. In the meantime, readers can check out our PRO package, where they can access in-depth details about streamers like Kai Cenat, including tools like audience locations, brand mention analysis, and Competitor analysis.
