Master Baker Season 2 becomes most popular competition in QTCindrella’s cooking series

Master Baker Season 2 becomes most popular competition in QTCindrella’s cooking series

QTCindrella’s highly successful Master Baker returned for a Season 2 on Wednesday, May 31,  and ran until Sunday, June 4. The entire exercise had similar numbers to the first season, but most importantly, it was more popular among fans this time around.

The show is basically a cook-off between various invited streamers over five days and is hosted by QTCindrella — herself a former professional cake artist — on Twitch. It sees six creators competing for the coveted crown, with one person eliminated at the end of each day.

There is a special finale for each series, which is what audiences look forward to and what usually catches their attention the most. The show also has special judges and guest hosts to spice up proceedings and add another layer of sheen to happenings.

Master Baker Season 1 was held in January 2023, with Slime heading home as the champion. The second season of this cooking competition had the following competitors:

It was broadcast on QTCindrella’s official Twitch channel, apart from reruns featuring on her YouTube handle and other creators’ accounts. At the end of it all, it was fanfan who came out on top as the winner for Season 2, with the TSM content creator and sous chef Zoil winning the final challenge that involved baking a three-tier wedding cake.

Viewership stats from QTCindrella’s Master Baker Season 2

The second season of this cooking competition recorded 28K Peak Viewers, which was 16% more than the corresponding number from Season 1, which was held in January. However, despite two more hours of airtime, it could not match up to the Hours Watched (6.3% fall) and Average Viewers (14.8% dip) stats of the event held earlier this year.

Unsurprisingly, it was the last day that attracted the most number of viewers, as fans were eager to see who between fanfan and Myth would come out on top, with AidenCalvin serving as the latter’s sous chef. The entire competition helped QTCindrella, who is celebrating her birthday today, gain 1.6K followers, which was 68.9% lesser than what she had acquired during January’s edition.

The total number of messages received during the broadcast of the entire event was 192K, including 895K total words. This meant Master Baker Season 2 received 12K active chatters and 15.4 messages per chatter, leading to an average daily engagement rate of 8.90%.

The top five words by usage were Zoil (46K), save (39K), aimen (29K), peepofanfan (25K), and peepoaiden (24K), meaning four of the five were about the participants. Aimen is also a popular nickname for AidenCalvin, a highly-popular Super Smash Bros. Melee pro who may not have made it to the finale but was part of its proceedings as Myth’s sous chef.

Save, meanwhile, was regularly used to signify two things: whenever any contestant came away unscathed from elimination, viewers referred to the event as a save. Also, with HelloFresh being the main partner of the entire event, audiences were keen to let the company know that its products and services had saved them a lot of time and effort in terms of procuring the kind of food they were looking for.

Speaking of HelloFresh, for those unaware, it’s a fresh food and meal kit delivery service that specializes in ‘delivering step-by-step recipes and fresh, pre-portioned ingredients to customers’ doorsteps.’ The organization was popular enough by itself to get over 500 mentions in the chat across the five days of the competition’s broadcast. It also enjoyed a pretty active average daily engagement rate of 9.1%.

When it comes to the participants’ mentions on the chat overall, it was Zoil who again topped the list with 47K mentions, which was way more than the rest of the contestants combined. Also, despite fanfan getting more mentions than Myth, it was the latter who had the higher chatters (1.2K to 1.01K), with Zoil leading this metric as well.

Also, the stats of Zoil differ in the two pics overhead because the previous one has the count for the exact word Zoil. Meanwhile, the image right above has also considered some other mentions of the winner of the Up-and-coming streamer gong at NymN's New Year's Show 2021, like @Zoil.

However, these streamers’ combined efforts could not ensure that Season 2’s total active chatters and messages crossed its predecessor. Season 1 did better on both metrics by 6.5% and 14.3%, respectively, suggesting that the hype around the cooking competition during its inaugural iteration was more as fans would have been more curious about how things would pan out and how their favorite streamers would perform outside their comfort zones.

Overall, Master Baker Season 2 was more popular than its previous edition, making it another feather in the versatile cap of QTCindrella, who has also created The Streamer Awards, Girls Trip, and Shitcamp, among others. Starting a cooking show based on her apparently top-notch baking skills has only helped her grow further as a  content creator and trailblazer.
