The 2025 edition of the Met Gala, which saw fashion and entertainment royalty present in abundance, was held on May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Widely regarded as the world's most prestigious and glamorous fashion event, its official channel broke records and topped the livestreaming charts.
Vogue, host of this legendary event, saw its official channel touch 2.12 million Hours Watched (HW) and 876,139 Peak Viewers (PV), both new milestones after beating the numbers put up by last year's show. These numbers were also enough to put it in the top ten livestreaming table for the first week of May, with the handle taking the sixth spot by peak concurrent viewers and coming in ninth for watch time.
This year's Met Gala celebrated the Costume Institute's new exhibition, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," as it welcomed stars, young creatives, and industry paragons. Fans and viewers also witnessed tributes to Black history, culture, and style as the pouring rain did little to dampen the spirits of those in attendance.
Fashion's big night out was attended by top designers, models, and stylists alongside A-list names from sports, arts, and entertainment. The dress code for this year was "Tailored for You," inspired by the Costume Institute's new exhibition, with The Met revealing that its annual theme was designed to "provide guidance and invite creative interpretation."
With so many star faces and so much to cover in terms of the fashion and styles on display, many top streamers and content creators ensured to livestream the Met Gala 2025. Some of them, like Kai Cenat, were present at the venue, livestreaming happenings to their thousands of global fans.
During his time broadcasting Vogue's Met Gala after-party, Kai Cenat was able to meet a who's who of the entertainment industry. The Twitch megastar crossed paths with legendary names like Jacob Arabo, the founder of international luxury brand Jacob & Company, artists Pharrell Williams and Future, actor/filmmaker Daniel Kaluuya, socialite Kim Kardashian, and Simone Biles, the multiple-time Olympian and most decorated gymnast in history.
Among those influencers who broadcast the event from the comfort of their homes, Rumble star Dan Bongino was among the top names by PV. We also had Megyn Kelly, a popular American right-wing commentator who is known for her unabashed stance on the country's political atmosphere and hosts The Megyn Kelly Show, a talk show and podcast with over 3.2 million YouTube subscribers that airs on Sirius XM's Triumph channel.
In the end, one of the most anticipated and visible parties in the world, which featured a guest list of roughly 450 high-profile celebrities, turned heads across the globe for one night. It created enough buzz to register heavily on multiple platforms and prove once again that fashion and entertainment are a heady cocktail for livestreaming success.
