The Streams Charts team compiled some interesting statistics on the most mentioned streamers in Twitch chats. We wondered which content creators viewers most often talk about when they watch streams on other channels. You can find the results of our research in this article.
We analyzed Twitch chats of the Top 200 Twitch streamers of July 2022 to find out which streamers are the most mentioned. Of course, we did not take into account personal chats of specific streamers, otherwise the statistics would not be objective. In other words, when we analyzed references to ibai, we took into account the data from all chats of all streamers from the Top 200, except ibai himself.
The most mentioned Twitch streamer in July 2022 is xQc, one of the most watched creators on the platform. His nickname was written more than 168.6K times in 169 different chats in a month. Second place goes to forsen, who was mentioned 143K times on 115 of the Top 200 channels. It is interesting that xQc and forsen are far ahead of their closest competitors by the number of mentions.
We should note that xQc is in fact the most popular Twitch streamer, so his presence in the Top should not be surprising. Forsen has a much smaller audience, although it is very active, especially in chat. Also, forsen is a very "meme" character, and his "forsenE" emote can be often seen in the chats of other streamers (by the way, we didn't take into account any emoji when calculating the number of references, otherwise the total number of forsen references would be even greater). These streamers also have a lot in common: they have similar types of content, and their audiences have similar interests. Moreover, xQc and forsen have long had a kind of rivalry behind the scenes, a topic that viewers often like to troll them about in chat. For example, who will finish the Minecraft speedrun faster, etc.
The Top 10 by the number of mentions in other streamers' chats also includes ImKaiCenat, shroud, TenZ, ibai, Ninja, mount, Gorgc, and Mizkif. Of them Ninja has the highest number on other channels — his nickname was mentioned in 182 chats from the Top 200. We should make a remark that the data on Ninja and mount may not be completely accurate, because their nicknames have the same spelling as regular words.
We also calculated the number or references to female streamers. It should be noted that there are only 13 female streamers in the Twitch Top 200. Out of them, only 10 were mentioned in other chats of streamers from the Top 200.
Amouranth is the most mentioned female streamer in chats — her nickname was written 10.9K times on 162 different channels of the Top 200. The second place is taken by pokimane (6.7K messages on 129 channels).
XQc is the most mentioned nickname on the channel of the streamer AdinRoss in July — more than 64.8K messages with the nickname of the Canadian (this is about 38.4% of all mentions of xQc in other chats from the Top 200). How did this happen? The reason is that AdinRoss held a highly-watched stream with the kickboxer Antrew Tate that featured many famous guests in July: one of them was xQc.
Approximately 48.4K times xQc was mentioned in forsen's chat, which is about 28.7% of the total number of messages with his nickname. Note that xQc is the most mentioned streamer in forsen's chat, with 47.2K messages in July (33% of the total mentions). As you can see, the overlap between xQc and forsen is very large.
The second most mentioned nickname in forsen's chat is the Swedish streamer Gorgc. His nickname was mentioned more than 14.5K times (10.1%). The reason for such a popularity is that in July forsen decided to try playing Dota 2, and Gorgc saw it and commented sarcastically on his compatriot's "progress". The forsen's viewers forwarded Gorgc's words to him — this is the reason for so many mentions in his chat.
The most frequently referenced female streamer in imkaicenat's chat is Amouranth, who was mentioned 1.6K in July (14.6% of the total number of mentions). They had several streaming shows together in July, about which we'll tell you more below. The Top 3 also includes xQc (939) and Gorgc (823). It should be noted that the channel where Amouranth was most often mentioned is Jinnytty, who is the second after Amouranth in the Top of the most popular female Twitch streamers in July.
Interesting fact: Amoutanth and Pokimane are mentioned less frequently than xQc and forsen, but they have a large coverage of channels where they are mentioned. Amouranth ranks third in the same ranking with male streamers, and Pokimane is ninth. Forsen, on the other hand, is not even in the Top 10.
As for Pokimane, she is most often mentioned in the chats of forsen, tarik, xQc, Mizkif and, again, Jinnytty. Pokimane is one of the most popular female streamers on Twitch, so the attention to her is quite understandable.
We analyzed the chat on the Amouranth channel and noticed an interesting thing. Usually her viewers rarely mention other creators, but there is one big exception to this rule — ImKaiCenat. In July, the two held a collaborative broadcast during which imkaicenat taught Amouranth how to dance. It was so hyped that imkaicenat's nickname was mentioned more than 10.7K times in the chat of Twitch's most popular female streamer. In comparison, Yoda is second by this metric (only 194 times). Mentions of other streamers did not reach a hundred messages.
Pokimane often hosts joint broadcasts and collaborations with other top Twitch streamers, so their nicknames can often be found in her chat. For example, she played Valorant with Tarik, ran joint podcasts with xQc and Mizkif, trolled and asked out Sykkuno, etc. One of Twitch's most popular female streamers easily communicate with the stars of the platform and is very rarely involved in any scandals. Also, Pokimane fans are always actively discussing which of the top streamers she could date. Anis, on the other hand, does not expose her personal life, but periodically baits viewers to make various "theories". Thanks to this kind of shippering, there are many famous nicknames in the Pokimane's chat. However, all the theories so far remain only fans' fantasies.
As we wrote above, xQc and forsen have a large segment of common audience, so these streamers are most often mentioned in each other's chats. The second most mentioned streamer on xQc's channel is Buddha (5.9K messages in July). They both often play on the same GTA V RP server, actively troll each other and entertain viewers with friendly trash-talks. Shroud, pokelawls, Ninja and Rubius are slightly less mentioned on xQc's channel.
On the forsen's channel viewers mentioned xQc most often, but Gorgc is second by the number of mentions in July. And here we return to the moment when forsen was learning to play Dota 2, and Gorgc was condescendingly commenting on his skills. As a result, we can see 14K mentions of Gorgc on forsen's stream. Pokimane, Asmongold, and AdmiralBulldog are also in the Top 5.

Analyzing the chats on Twitch, you can see that some streamers have a very large audience overlap. Most often it can be attributed to joint broadcasts and other collaborations. On the other hand, forsen's example shows that it is not necessary to have a large audience for a streamer to be regularly discussed in other streamers' chats. Much more important is the activity of their own audience, their involvement in the streamer's life, their awareness of local memes, etc.
