Streams Charts continues to recap the first month of 2023. In January, streamers actively played Escape from Tarkov and Minecraft, set new records at speedrun events, and held their own year-end ceremonies, all of which affected Twitch teams' rankings. Find out who made it into the Top by Hours Watched and who was close to leaving the Top 10.
Most Popular Twitch Teams of January 2023

The Loaded team tops the January 2023 Twitch team ranking. Its streamers racked up 22.4 million Hours Watched in a month. The biggest contributors were summit1g, shroud, and LIRIK, who actively streamed Escape from Tarkov. Interestingly, summit1g's EFT broadcasts helped Team G FUEL retain second place in the Top 10, although the squad amassed 12% less HW compared to December.
Thanks to Awesome Games Done Quick 2023, the SpeedRunsLive team ranked sixth with 13 million Hours Watched. The largest contribution was made by GamesDoneQuick, which hosted the official broadcast of the event.
Half of the positions in the overall ranking are taken by esports teams — Luminosity Gaming, Heretics, Cloud9, Team Liquid and Team SoloMid. This is the first time we have included them in the Top with teams of streamers, gaming communities, etc.
Most Popular Twitch Teams Among Esports Clubs of January 2023

Luminosity Gaming became the most popular esports team on Twitch in January 2023. It racked up 15.9 million HW in a month, slightly improving on its previous result. Recall that xQc, Twitch's most popular streamer, left Luminosity Gaming in mid-January. Despite all the announcements and statements on social media, xQc is still officially listed as a member of Luminosity on Twitch. As long as he is there, his streams are counted as part of the organization.
Heretics, owned by the popular Spanish streamer TheGrefg, is in second place. In January, the organization increased its HW number by more than 300% thanks to TheGrefg himself and his Premios ESLAND ceremony, awarding the best Hispanic content creators. The ceremony was broadcast on theGrefg channel and was watched by more than 1.75 million Peak Viewers.
Cloud9 moved up from fifth to third place with nearly 13 million HW in January. The biggest contributors to this result were traditionally k3soju and forsen, who mostly played Teamfight Tactics and Minecraft this month, respectively.
Team Liquid, which was the leader in December 2022, dropped as much as 40% HW in January, the largest drop among the organizations in the Top. Recall that in December, Team Liquid gained a lot of HW because of the Race To World First in World of Warcraft. Team Liquid has one of the most popular guilds in the game, so tens of thousands of viewers followed its adventures. When the race was over, the organization's stats returned to their more familiar numbers. For the same reason, Echo and Method dropped out of the Top 10.
