Netflix Geeked Week 2022 took place last week, a five-day virtual event showcasing Netflix series, movies and games. In this new Streams Charts article, we'll tell you what was most remarkable about the event, and how many viewers it attracted.
Netflix Geeked Week is an annual event featuring exclusive teaser and movie trailer premieres, surprising announcements, new footage, interviews with the cast and more. This year the event has involved more than 60 company's projects, including games inspired by TV series as well as TV series inspired by games.
Netflix Geeked Week 2022 took place from June 6 to June 10, each day had a different theme:
- June 6 — series day
- June 7 — film day
- June 8 — animation day
- June 9 — "Stranger Things" day
- June 10 — games day
Some of the announcements include the animated series Dragon Age: Absolution and Sonic Prime, the second season of The Cuphead Show!, the third season of DOTA: Dragon's Blood and a chess game based on the series "The Queen's Gambit". In five days Netflix Geeked Week 2022 was on air for almost 13 hours with the main broadcasts on Twitch and YouTube. In total, the event's streams accumulated more than 451K Hours Watched with 35.4K Average Viewers. 136.4K Peak Viewers were reached on the final day of the event during The Cuphead Show! The most popular streaming platform for Netflix Geeked Week 2022 was Twitch (70% of total Hours Watched), while the most popular language was, as expected, English (more than 60% of total Hours Watched). Among the channels, Spanish variety streamer Alejandro alexelcapo Fernandez was the leader in terms of Peak Viewers, and the official netflix channel was the leader in terms of Hours Watched.
