The Twitch Rivals Squid Craft Games 3 was held online from November 12 to 17, returning almost 20 months after the previous edition. It involved some of the most prominent names in the live-streaming world, especially from the Hispanic community, continuing the event's strong run in the highly publicized series hosted by Twitch Rivals.
This Minecraft Survival Cup saw 200 popular streamers from the Europe, North America, and LATAM regions battle it out across 12 Minigames, including Kamet0, Sapnap, ElMariana, AuronPlay, Rubius, and Ibai. Two Minigames were played per day over six days, with the winner taking home the entire prize purse of $100,000.
Each day, up to 25 players were at the risk of getting eliminated after the completion of the Minigames. On the final day, only around 20 players would be left to battle for the crown, with the final two battling one-on-one and putting it all on the line to emerge as the victor.

This is the moment a new champion is crowned in Twitch Rivals: Survival Cup 3! @Soypan__ can hardly believe it, but that was an absolutely EPIC performance! ? What a moment! pic.twitter.com/eMfJB5bMH0
Interestingly, at the end of each day's play, the two Minigames for the next day were revealed, helping retain some of the audience base towards the end of each daily broadcast. There was also an adjustment game — The Night — that took place in case any participant tweaks were needed.
In the end, it was SoyPan who emerged as the victor, defeating Perxitaa in a clash of the final two survivors to emerge as the champion. These two Spanish-speaking influencers outlasted 16 other finalists to make it a one-on-one match-up with the winner taking it all, and it was the Mexican star who came out on top.
The Twitch Rivals Squid Craft Games 3 went off smoothly, apart from one or two spikes in viewership that came about at the end of a day's play, mostly when player eliminations were confirmed and the Mingames for the next days were revealed. It was pretty consistently covered by the participants without any substantial dependence on one or two channels, which tends to happen at streamer-related events.
In terms of statistics, the competition reached 1.29M Peak Viewers during the first day of action. It saw the participants duke it out in the Sweet Dreams and Bumper Cars singleplayer Miniganes, with at least 14 hopefuls getting eliminated.
As a result, it ended as the most popular Twitch Rivals event in 2024, with the next-best entry — Twitch Rivals: Hunt & Run w/ IlloJuan, ft. Minecraft — way back with 516.3K PV. It also reinforced how big this particular Minecraft event involving the world's top creators has become, often outdoing the viewership of many prominent esports tournaments. When looking at competitions this year, the Squid Craft 3 hit a higher peak than the IEM Cologne 2024, VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai, and FNCS 2024 Global Championship.
Comparing the series' audience reach, this Minecraft event registered 1.29 million peak concurrent viewers, 31% less than the Twitch Rivals Squid Craft Games 2 (Survival Cup). Meanwhile, its 18.1M Hours Watched over an airtime of 22 hours was 24.6% less than last year's edition.
Talking a little about what happened at the event, JH De La Cruz 777 was the first influencer to be eliminated from the competition, eliciting quite a few sympathetic messages from fans and fellow creators. He was joined by the likes of Loserfruit, Lluna Clark, and Pelicanger saying bye on the first day.
The second day was when the first actual surprise elimination came about, with GirlOfNox, who made herself a star with the recent Dedsafio 3 series, heading out the exit door. She had emerged as the most-watched female streamer on Kick in October thanks to her gameplay attracting lots of attention, but she could not make it past the initial rounds here.
Day 3 was when the community got a big jolt as star Kick streamer WestCol got booted out. Spursito joining him on the elimination list no doubt affected what could have been a higher audience reach for the event as it reached the final few Minigames.
MizKif, ElMariana, and Ibai joined the list of participants who were to be kicked out over the next two days. In fact, none of the other star names like Rubius, Sapnap, ElSpreen, AuronPlay, DjMariio, Quackity, Tubbo, Kamet0, or Juan Guarnizo made the final day of players.
The absence of some of these influencers, especially the likes of ibai and kamet0, also played a part in this unique Minecraft competition note reaching a higher viewership. If they had made it to the final day, the numbers put up would have been much higher, perhaps even beating what we saw at the second edition early last year.
Among the top channels to cover the Twitch Rivals Squid Craft Games 3 (Survival Cup) were Auronplay, Soypan, and Rubius. They were the only three co-streamers to do over 200K PV, with the top two separated by just over 300 viewers.
Unsurprisingly, Hispanic content creators dominated the top broadcast channels list. This also meant that Spanish took up just over 93% of the event's overall watch time, an increase of about 6.5% for the language compared to 2023 despite putting up lesser numbers.
English-speaking streamers were a big miss in 2024 when it comes to the decline in audience reach compared to last year. This can be seen in the fact that language saw its share of the cumulative HW pie fall by almost 8.3%, with its peak concurrent viewership also plummeting by 221%.
Nevertheless, among livestreaming events involving content creators held this year, Squid Craft 3 ranks highly in terms of PV numbers. It is the third most popular entry, behind only the two boxing events involving influencers from Ibai (La Velada del Año IV) and WestCol (Stream Fighters 3).
To wrap up, the Twitch Rivals Squid Craft Games remains a massive draw among live streaming viewers the world over despite the numbers falling slightly in 2024. It has become an annual event that audiences look forward to, with the sheer number of creators and games they witness making it a highly entertaining spectacle.
