Twitch results in September 2022: Top categories, channels, broadcasts and clip of the month

Numerous esports matches took place in September including Valorant Champions 2022, ESL Pro League Season 16 and even Worlds 2022. All of this inevitably reflected on Twitch metrics. In this new Streams Charts article, we tell you about the most popular categories, channels and other statistics on the platform, as well as reveal this month's most-watched clip.

Most Popular Twitch Games of September 2022

Just Chatting again became the most watched platform category, with a 2% drop in September Hours Watched. Valorant, rising two ranks to second place, was almost twice as far from the leader by this metric. At the same time, thanks to the Valorant Champions 2022 broadcasts, Hours Watched numbers for the category rose by 18% over the month.

League of Legends rounded out the top 3 most popular September categories on Twitch, but lost 11% of its Hours Watched for the month, and fell by one position in the rankings. Note that LoL could have taken fourth place but for Worlds 2022, which took place on September 29 and 30. GTA 5 also moved down one position in the rankings by September results, losing 17% of Hours Watched numbers for the month.

Minecraft retained its fifth place in the top, despite the category's Hours Watched went down by 30%CS:GO managed to jump from tenth to sixth place in the rankings thanks to ESL Pro League Season 16 broadcasts and its Hours Watched increased by 41%Dota 2 held its seventh place despite losing 15% of Hours Watched for the month.

Apex LegendsWorld of Warcraft and Fortnite were also among the ten most watched categories on Twitch in September. And while shooters lost 14% and 9% of Hours Watched, MMORPG metric went up by 82% thanks to the release of the global expansion Wrath of the Lich King Classic at the end of the month.

Most Popular Twitch Channels of September 2022

xQc again was the most watched streamer among all Twitch channels in September. For the month, his Hours Watched numbers fell by 6% due to a 10% drop in broadcasting time. ESL_CSGO channel, which broadcasted ESL Pro League Season 16, was in second place with 16.3 million Hours Watched. Yet another esports channel, VALORANT, took fifth place in the overall ranking with more than 9.7 million Hours Watched for September.

KaiCenat jumped from fourth to second place in the male ranking, with almost no change in his Hours Watched results. Auronplay retained his third place in the top, losing about 10% of Hours Watched over the month. Third place in the top excluding organizational channels was taken by Gaules, whose metric increased by 12% thanks to ESL Pro League Season 16 broadcasts.

Tarik broadcasted during the whole Valorant Champions 2022 and became the tournament's most popular community caster. His Hours Watched increased by 22% in September, advancing him from seventh to fifth place in the rankings. Eliasn97 also became the most-watched streamer in FIFA 23 which helped him see a 35% increase by Hours Watched. He was followed by fps_shaks, another popular Valorant Champions 2022 community caster, with 7.6 million Hours Watched (+22% for the month).

Brazilian PaulinhoLOKObr, whose main category was GTA 5, took eighth place in the top. Compared to August, his Hours Watched increased by 57%. A similar metric of ElSpreen dropped by 58%, which made the streamer fall from the second place in the rankings to the ninth. Note that the decline was caused by a 46% drop in airtime. HasanAbi's Hours Watched stayed almost unchanged, but the creator fell by one position in the ranking and rounded out the male top 10.

Most Popular Female Twitch Streamers of September 2022

Amouranth became the most watched female streamer on Twitch for the second month in a row. At the same time, her Hours Watched fell by 10% in September. The same metric for 서새봄냥 (saddummy) was up by 16%, which was enough to jump from eighth place to second. Ironmouse accumulated just 2% more Hours Watched than in August, moving up from fourth place to third.

Jinnytty showed the biggest increase by Hours Watched in Twitch's female top 10. Her metric was up 26% mainly because of a 57% increase in airtime, which helped her to take 4th place. In turn, the biggest drop was recorded on the rivers_gg channel. The girl lost 48% of her Hours Watched, falling from second place to sixth in the ranking.

Most Popular Broadcasts of September 2022

Disclaimer: The ranking was based on one most successful broadcast per channel.

The most popular broadcast of September took place on October 29 on the Riot Games channel, broadcasting the first day matches of Worlds 2022. It was watched by more than 361.6 Peak Viewers. LEC Summer 2022 final between G2 and Rogue, which was broadcast on the league's official channel, came second with 349K simultaneous viewers.

The final day of the ZEVENT2022 charity event broadcast by ZeratoR took third place with 307.2K Peak Viewers. The Valorant Champions 2022 Grand Final between LOUD and OpTic on the game's official channel simultaneously drew 287.2K viewers (4th place). The top 5 was rounded out by the BUSCANDO EL AMOR stream on Ibai channel, which was followed by 243.2K Peak Viewers.

The GenshinImpact special program, one of the xQc streams, the LCS Summer 2022 finals on LCS channel and RINGCRAFT by Auronplay and The End of Las Nevadas broadcast by Quackity also entered the top 10.

Most Popular Clip of September 2022

The most popular clip of the month, created by a relatively small streamer with 9K followers, accumulated over 637K views. In the video brogottocurious encountered a bug in the FiveM modification, which is used to play on RP servers.
