The Twitch Rivals events at the recent TwitchCon Paris 2023 saw action across four disciplines over two days. As expected, it was the fun yet thrilling Ultimate Challenge event held at the Twitch Rivals Arena that performed the best on both counts.
The line-up of streamers participating in this series of games — both digital and physical — involving mystery challenges included names like Dream, GeorgeNotFound, SolariStreams, Sapnap, and ZeratoR. The other three events that managed to keep audiences and fans enthralled were League of Legends, Valorant, and Fall Guys.
The Twitch Rivals Ultimate Challenge, Live from Paris event recorded 114K Peak Viewers, 410K Hours Watched, and 98K Average Viewers over an airtime of four hours. The most popular individual channel streaming it was ZeratoR, with 21K PV, while he was also the most watched handle with 48K HW, doing even better than the official Twitch Rivals account. GeorgeNotFound came in third on both counts, once again proving his fame among fans not only of Minecraft but the purple platform generally.
French online star ZeratoR was also the most-watched content creator for the Twitch Rivals: Fall Guys Showdown ft. ZeratoR and Twitch Rivals VALORANT Mode Mash-up competitions. This made him the second-most viewed individual handle across the four events and the third-most overall at this semi-annual gaming convention for Twitch.
The Twitch Rivals Ultimate Challenge, Live from Paris had six events under it, making it perhaps the most important one held at this year’s first TwitchCon. They were:
- Round 1: Baguette Derby (IRL)
- Round 2: Minecraft Race
- Round 3: Wreckfest 4v4
- Round 4: Boomerang Fu 2v2s
- Round 5: Lunch Hour Rush (IRL)
- Round 6 (Top two teams): Kitchen Chaos (IRL)
The format was such that it had eight teams and 32 participants, with each side competing to earn points in a mix of five different IRL and video game challenges. The top two at the end of it all would compete head-to-head in an IRL Finals, with the winner receiving $15K. The runner-up and third-placed sides took home $12K and $9K, respectively.
The Twitch Rivals Ultimate Challenge, Live from Paris was the most successful by a country mile this time. The Valorant and Fall Guys tournaments followed in terms of both watch hours and peak concurrent viewers, with the LoL event coming in last.
Interestingly, the highly-famous MOBA was the only one not to have ZeratoR broadcast it, and it ended up finishing last among the four disciplines. This was despite it carrying the second-highest prize money of $50K, behind only the Ultimate Challenge’s purse of $75K.
What else happened at the TwitchCon Paris 2023?
TwitchCon to be held in Europe since 2019 had a total airtime of 4.1K hours, with both industry titans and smaller amateur content creators contributing to these numbers. All the live broadcasts put together accumulated 2M HW, with 1.1M of these coming from the event's first day, which also peaked at 143K PV.
EsfandTV was the most watched content creator at the event, accruing 272K HW for the weekend, with 130K HW coming on Day 1. Nmplol was the most popular streamer, registering 28.7K PV.
When it comes to female broadcasters, it was Jinnytty all the way as she outperformed her peers to make it to the fourth spot overall and number one among women in the most-watched segment, with a 100K-plus HW gap to her closest rival. She was also the most popular female and a general look at the top female streamers shows just how important TwitchCon Europe is for streamers from the continent.
