When looking for the most interactive content creators on streaming services like Twitch, chat dynamics can help gauge how well they are performing. These figures give an idea of how well these online stars are at engaging with their audiences and keeping up with the newest trends.
Moreover, stats related to the chat can give an estimate of how viewers react to a broadcast, streamer, or both, and their level of response to what they are watching. Hence, Streams Charts has collated data and ranks broadcasters with the most active chats from last month.
Top Twitch streamers by chat activity in January 2024
The audience engagement ratio for a day is calculated as the percentage of active chatters to the total number of estimated audience of the channel that day. The more often viewers write in a chat during the broadcast, the higher this ratio is.
To compile both these January 2024 rankings, we have collated two groups and put certain restrictions. For Group 1, we analyzed only those channels that had 100K+ followers, over 5K Average Viewers on broadcasts, and more than 100K messages in the chat. In Group 2, we have selected channels with over 500 Average Viewers, more than 10K followers, and 10h+ in airtime while excluding names from Group 1.
Carreraaa is the leader when it comes to audience engagement rate for the first month of 2024 with 45.0%, accrued over 61.9K active chatters. He was one of the most watched streamers from Argentina in 2023 thanks to plenty of content in the Just Chatting section. He has also started the year playing a bit of Slime Rancher, a first-person life simulation adventure video game that seemingly helped him attract more viewers on chat.
Next is Bananirou, whose 48.7K active chatters helped earn him an audience engagement rate of 34.3%. The Argentinian attempted a lot of speedruns in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas last month, and knowing how the community feels about the game, it's not a surprise he was able to attract such a high level of interaction with audiences.
Masi_rodriguez is third, thanks to her Just Chatting live broadcasts that helped her reach an engagement rate of 32.6%, the last entry to cross the 30% mark. She also attracted 17.4K active chatters, mainly thanks to her three collaboration streams with the famous Spanish content creator IlloJuan.
Bkinho follows with an audience engagement rate of 28.9% that owed much to the 22.9K active chatters his chat accrued across the month. His gameplay videos of Grand Theft Auto V were especially popular among his fans, and with the game being a massive draw in his homeland of Brazil, whenever he played the game, his viewership stats would go up.
Rounding off the top five is RDjavi, the Spanish-speaking influencer from The Dominican Republic, a Caribbean nation that shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti to the west. He is another name whose GTA V gameplay broadcasts, especially the roleplay ones from the Creativos server, turned out to be pretty engaging, attracting more chatter within his chat.
The remaining names in this top ten list — willito, Jerma985, S5B_, CrystalMolly, and davooxeneize — come from diverse backgrounds, including Iraq and Mexico. Their content also mostly revolved around games like Fortnite and League of Legends, apart from IRL videos and those based on Rockstar Games' legendary title.
As for top streamers by active chatters, first is Jynxzi, the high volume, high energy Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege specialist who has been growing from strength to strength over the past two years. In January, his collaboration broadcasts with the likes of xQc, Breckie Hill, and Kai Cenat helped attract more attention than usual and contributed to a high active chatter number of 432.3K.
Caseoh_ is second with 382.8K active chatters, primarily thanks to his playthroughs of the post-apocalyptic dark comedy survival game 60 Seconds! Reatomized. He was also part of a collab stream involving Kai Cenat and Jynxzi that was his most popular ever and became more popular than the most prominent 2023 esports competitions of the game they played, R6.
Completing the trifecta of names from the collab broadcast mentioned above is Kai Cenat with 331.8K active chatters. 2023's most-watched Twitch streamer played a lot of Madden NFL 24, while his IRL videos were filled with celebrity guests like 21 Savage and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, which helped attract more discussions among his viewers than usual.
ElMariana is fourth, with his fame seeing no sights of abating, as seen in the fact that he remains one of the most followed Hispanic/Latin American content creators around. Just Chatting and Minecraft broadcasts took up most of his time, but some of his more popular and watched streams included content for Call of Duty: Warzone and Pumping Simulator 2.
Last is the Fortnite pro, Clix, whose live broadcasts last month assumed more importance thanks to his participation in the popular FNCS Finals. He was also busy playing other streamer tournaments and appearing in collab videos, which helped boost his active chatter count to over 170K.
The next five entries in the list include some sought-after names like MrSavage and Gaules, who are known for their Counter-Strike and Fortnite clips. Another star name, Rubius, was quite busy playing the new game on the block on Twitch, Palworld, while Mongraal and JonVlogs were also into IRL content and videos from Epic Games' builder shooter.
Among the second sample of names, the leader is Mavamgo, and he is joined by fellow Portuguese-speaking creator nagatathebest on the podium. Second is Turkey's OdinDayimiz, with the trio’s content mostly focusing on gambling via the Virtual Casino, Casino Jackpot, and Casino categories.
SiDeRaLisBACK, a Spanish creator, comes fourth thanks to a focus on Dota 2 across the first month of the new year, although he, too, dabbled a bit in the Slots category. Last but not least is alya_maliuta from Ukraine, with her focus on Unknown — an action-adventure indie game — paying off in getting the attention of her chat.
Belgium's Talmo is #1 in the group by number of average monthly active chatters, the only one to cross 100K active chatters on this table. Sweden's Fnmoneymaker is second, with both their content mainly focusing on Fortnite, which had a rebirth of sorts on the purple platform in December thanks to the OG update. DragonBallZTV0 from Argentina completes the podium, with his Dragon Ball videos proving a draw among fans of the legendary media franchise.
Colombian Emikukis, who is mostly an IRL influencer although she has tried various games, is fourth with 58.1K active chatters. Following her is Dantes, with the Canadian mostly streaming LoL and Palworld in January 2024.
