The live-streaming industry continued to grow in 2023 and create new records when it comes to viewership pertaining to watch time and popularity. One of the leaders in this regard continues to be Twitch, which saw another successful 12 months that included eight straight months of registering at least 1.7B HW.
The global live-streaming landscape also showed that the purple platform had done much better in the final quarter of the previous year than the preceding one. It also ended 2023 on a high, with December being a great month across the three crucial metrics, including a Peak Viewers record for the year.
What helped was the performance of established and new streaming names in Q4, with something like The Big Bang in Fortnite helping lots of upcoming content creators show their potential. Speaking of potential, some influencers climbed up the ladder faster than others, and thanks to its comprehensive database, including a “growing streamers” filter that PRO subscribers can access, Streams Charts has compiled lists for the fastest-growing streamers of the fourth quarter.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels of Q4 2023 by followers gained
As mentioned, PRO subscribers can filter for the fastest-growing Twitch streamers by new followers for a selected period. Multiple options are available for the Followers Gain metric, like streamers with less than 100K followers, streamers who recorded over 100%+ followers gained from the previous period, and under 1M followers. This list looks at the fastest-growing online personalities with under 100K followers on the platform.
In the first place is the Portuguese platform Affiliate niicofps_, who gained a considerable 87K followers. Interestingly, while his most watched game, by a long distance, was the irrepressible Grand Theft Auto V, it was his brief excursions in the Virtual Casino genre that helped give him a footing among a larger audience base, resulting in him hitting the top spot here.
Next is Marc0fps_, another Portuguese-speaking Twitch Affiliate and the only other name to hit over 80K followers gained on this leaderboard. He is another who relied on Virtual Casino videos to reach a larger viewer base, although his most viewed game by far was Counter-Strike.
Third is tiliaoficial, completing a clean sweep of Portuguese speakers on the podium and one of only two internet stars to cross 60K followers gained. She is also one of only two platform Partners on this table, with her rise coming thanks to a strong willingness to stick to the Just Chatting genre. However, her Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches broadcasts were also pretty sought-after, attracting the most Average Viewers among all categories that she delved into the the final quarter of 2023.
Mexico's Chavo8TV is fourth with 64K followers gained and is also the only one with over a million hours of watch time on this top ten list. An intriguing case, this fan channel exclusively streams HD episodes of El Chavo del Ocho — a cult Mexican sitcom that captured the hearts of generations of Hispanics and Brazilians — 24x7. It also spawned El Chavo, a 2012 arcade shooter platformer developed by Kaxan Media Group in association with Slang Publishing and Televisa Home Entertainment.
Fifth is birao_fps, a fourth Portuguese content creator in the top five who also got most of his recent following thanks to the Virtual Casino and Counter-Strike categories. Amazingly, he was able to finish this high on this table despite not being active for more than half the period, with his gameplays in Valve's shooter especially proving useful in pulling in more viewers and followers.
Russian-speaking B3BRINA is sixth, with most of her videos belonging to the Just Chatting genre. Following her is 1trov, who has also dipped his fingers into the Virtual Casino pool to ensure he gets a sizeable number of people watching his videos and following him.
Two more Portuguese speakers, danlrj and Fhz_rp, are eighth and ninth, respectively, with their content revolving around categories like Grand Theft Auto V, Virtual Casino, and Counter-Strike. In last place, and the only German here is maxpro3500, who made use of the hype surrounding Fortnite to put himself at the forefront of viewers' minds.
Fastest-growing Twitch channels of Q4 2023 by Average Viewers
This option helps PRO subscribers search for the fastest-growing streamers by filtering those who recorded a 100% increase in average online viewership compared to the previous period or an increase of more than 1000 concurrent viewers.
Spanish star xCry leads a list containing renowned influencers thanks to a breakthrough fourth quarter that saw him hit 40K AV that also saw him gain 1.5M followers. Having also finished second on the list of most popular Twitch streamers in the same period, the Guadalajara, Mexico, resident will look to build on this growth and cement his space as one of the eminent Hispanic live broadcasting names in the new year.
Second is Caedrel, a massive name in the European League of Legends scene and a former esports pro in the discipline. The Englishman turns out for Fnatic as a content creator, and his coverage of the game and its events have made him a much sought-after voice among fans of the game. What helped him reach this high here is his live broadcasts of the record-breaking 2023 League of Legends World Championship, where he was one of the most successful streamers.
Next is Ninja, the Fortnite icon who is enjoying a renaissance on the Amazon-owned streaming service just like the game that made him famous. His continuous activity during the game's OG season update reminded viewers why he was such a big deal and helped him gain more than 400K followers. The American is also celebrating his channel's birthday today, so Streams Charts wishes him a Happy Birthday and more success in his future ventures, be they streaming or otherwise.
Maximum is fourth, the American MMO/variety streamer known for his World of Warcraft exploits, including clinching multiple world firsts as a raid leader. The Team Liquid Guild Master and Raid Leader covered the game's popular Race to World First Amidrassil The Dreams Hope event in November, which helped it reach a high in terms of peak online viewers on Twitch.
Mastu rounds off the top five, with his focus on Minecraft helping him record 16K AV during Q4 2023. In fact, it was his October 1 livestream that became his most successful one ever. Involving Crazytown, the role-play RP server he created, the second season saw the Frenchman and his streaming peers share an adventure in the city of Crazytown.
Teenaged Fortnite pro and 00NATION content creator MrSavage is sixth, having been another beneficiary of a channel record live broadcast in the fourth quarter last year. The Norwegian's December 3 video which saw him access the game's Season 5 OG update for the first time attracted enough viewer attention to make it one of his most successful, including his most watched stream ever.
Seventh is luquitarodriguez, also the purple platform's fourth-most popular streamer across the fourth quarter of 2023. The Argentinean, renowned for his live streams of multiple Special Events, had his December 21 live stream, which ended as his most successful ever, to thank. He covered the Parense de Manos, an amateur boxing event among influencers at Luna Park in Buenos Aires.
Piuzinho — a member of LOUD — is eighth. He is another who used the popularity of Grand Theft Auto V to draw the eyeballs of more viewers. In fact, it was his fame among fans of the RP servers of Rockstar Games' legendary game and Free Fire that got him signed with the famous Brazilian esports organization last year.
American Simurgh and Gemran BastiGHG are ninth and tenth respectively, with the latter also emerging as one of the top broadcasters from this country for 2023 in lieu of his entertaining Minecraft content. The former was smart to concentrate on titles popular in his homeland — Fortnite, Counter-Strike, and Valorant — to help him make this Q4 list.

One trend that can be seen here is that a few names benefitted immensely from the success of Fortnite's OG season and live event. Apart from the aforementioned Ninja, his countryman Clix was another to take advantage of, with his watch time in Q4 rising by 114% and helping him gain more than 500K followers.
In third is caseoh_, who recently made news for his collab live stream involving KaiCenat and Jynxzi. It became his most popular ever while finishing second on the Hours Watched and Average Viewers tables.
mrbluwu, the Canadian Twitch Partner who mainly concentrated on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III — the newest game in the legendary series that came out in November — is fifth. However, his peak viewership was reached thanks to Party Animals, another title that came out in the second half of 2023 and created quite a stir.
Another German, TheRealKnossi, is the next fresh name, with his videos mostly being from the Just Chatting and Special Events genres. Interestingly, it was his live broadcasts from the Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches category that got him the most average online viewers during this three-month phase, although it has to be noted that most of his videos were with friends and were made more in jest.
DansGaming in tenth is the last name, who also made use of a highly-touted and anticipated game that came out in the final quarter of last year, Alan Wake II. However, the American's most viewed game was WoW, which remains a favorite among hardcore gamers from the 90s and noughties and has quite a niche crowd of followers online.
