Kick continues to grow at a rapid rate, with August proving to be another successful month in terms of viewership reach. Having reached new platform records in July in two crucial metrics — Hours Watched and Average Viewers — it maintained the momentum to achieve new milestones once again.
The live streaming service hit a new mark for monthly watch time, touching 211.1 HW, a 5% rise from the previous month. The same growth rate was seen in terms of average online viewership as well, which meant it hit a new peak of 286,527 concurrent viewers. It also saw a record number of games being streamed at 4,832 as newer streamers joining has meant more variety in the content they are putting out for fans and viewers.
In more good news, unlike July, where it witnessed red across a few other metrics, including peak viewership, August saw its audience reach hit green almost across the entire board. Only the average number of channels saw a negligible dip of 1%, while the number of active channels remained more or less the same.
It was the first time since April and May that there have been such gains made viewership-wise by Kick month-on-month. As usual, this good run was helped by streamers from Saudi Arabia and Latin America, with a steady rate of live streaming by North Americans also playing a crucial role in taking Kick up a notch in these rankings.
Most watched Kick categories, August 2024
After seeing a dip of about 1 million HW in July, Just Chatting was back to its best, with a 5% spike helping it consolidate its position as KIck's number one category. Grand Theft Auto V (GTA) maintained second position thanks to a 15% jump in its monthly watch time, led once again by broadcasts from Saudi Arabian stars drb7h and sxb and the newly-joined Spanish influencer, Nexxuz.
Despite a hefty increase of 27%, Slots & Casino had to be once again happy with third place. The likes of mellstroy271 and Roshtein, who were a lot less active in July, came alive again in August alongside xQc to ensure the category was back in the green.
IRL maintained fourth place with 16.70M HW, showing the platform's decision to introduce it as a separate genre at the end of June to include a large part of its non-gaming streams (to simplify moderation) has proved right. A clean sweep of monthly watch time improvements by the top five was rounded out by Hunger Games, a competition held by IcePoseidon that reflected its massively popular movie namesake and saw numerous creators battle for survival and to be the last influencer standing, with a hefty $100,000 prize on the line.
Garena Free Fire is the first of five games taking up the last five slots on this list, generating 5.24M HW in August. The next two spots are taken by Riot Games offerings, as League of Legends and Valorant come on seventh and eighth. The latter was not part of the Saudi Arabia spectacle, but it was able to maintain its spot in the top ten as the likes of xqc and sometimepro played a lot of the agent-shooter.
EA Sports FC 24 made it two straight months in the top ten thanks to an 8% increment in its monthly watch time after seeing quite a lot of activity during the Esports World Cup 2024. Last but not least is Dota 2, which witnessed a 26% climb in its month-to-month HW numbers to re-enter these rankings after missing out in July.

The top three for August are the same as the previous month, with drb7h once again finishing as numero uno with 6.61M HW. As has become the case on Kick, the top streamers are increasingly appearing from Saudi Arabia and Colombia. Sxb is another from the West Asian nation to appear in this top ten leaderboard, settling into the sixth spot with 3.22M HW.
When it comes to the South American country, WestCol maintained his status as one of the top names on the Stake-backed streaming service, with IRL broadcasts continuing to be his favorite. XQc also managed to jump up a place to second, swapping positions with his Colombian peer, thanks to a 19% rise in his August watch time that was led by high activity in segments like Slots & Casino, Black Myth: Wukong, and Delta Force: Hawk Ops.
The big mover for August was jeanpormanove, whose content on the recently launched Chained Together helped him jump to the fourth spot. It was aided by a massive spike of 681% in his month-on-month HW numbers, with some of these streams ending as his most successful ever.
Someone who is used to finishing near the top of the pile regularly comes in fifth, with Adin Ross making up for lack of activity in July to re-enter these rankings, including a mammoth lie stream involving Donald Trump that ended among the top all-time English-speaking streamers by PV across platforms. Another usual suspect on such monthly leaderboards, roshtein, could only manage tenth this time despite a huge improvement in his activity as the newer names continued to make their presence felt.
Another massive name who made the jump to Kick broadcasting on the last two days of August proved his popularity by making this list. TheGrefg, the Spanish megastar known for his Twitch exploits, saw his debut stream become one of the year's most popular, reiterating his following across not only the Hispanic community but globally.
There were also regular IRL creators ilyaselmaliki and fousey, who were also new entries on this leaderboard. The latter continues to grow on Kick viewers, following up a seventh-place finish in July with eighth in August, and his fans will hope he can maintain this momentum and become a more regular fixture in these monthly lists.

Having regained her position as the top female streamer in Hours Watched in July, Amouranth ensured to maintain that stranglehold by finishing way ahead of anyone else in August. Airtime of 422 hours helped in this quest, although her peak concurrent viewership has fallen behind a lot of her competitors on the platform.
Some notable changes among female streamers included demisux and woodbabi improving their viewership to once again emerge as some of the most watched on Kick. However, it was rainelissss, the Puerto Rican, who made heads turn thanks to an almost 800% increment in her monthly watch time in just around 15 hours that put her in the fourth spot, with activities like movie nights and giveaways on Omegle proving a hit among viewers.
Last month's big mover, iippadaa, could not maintain her momentum and dropped down five positions to seventh. Peru's onlypepita was another female creator to make gains in August, with a 159% rise in her watch time from July giving her 136K HW and putting her in the eighth spot.
