Better late than never! In May, the livestreaming platform Kick dealt with a significant bot influx, which required us to spend some time cleaning the data before sharing it with our readers. Despite that, the platform still saw strong viewership growth last month, with content consumption rising an impressive 29%.
Alongside a solid rise in Kick’s total watch time, most other metrics saw notable growth. Interestingly, the number of streamers going live in May was lower than in April, but those who streamed did so more frequently. This led to a 1% increase in the average number of channels live at any given time.
Streaming volumes for games and other categories saw solid growth overall, though the top rankings remained largely unchanged. Just Chatting streams maintained a strong lead, nearly doubling the viewership of their closest rivals. Notably, IRL, Grand Theft Auto, and Slots & Casino attracted almost the same viewership totals.
In the MOBA scene, Dota 2 significantly extended its lead over League of Legends. Minecraft also made a comeback in the top 10, boosted by Félix "xQc" Lengyel and South American streamers, who took part in the popular Webones Show, a unique Minecraft CTM (Complete the Monument) series organized by Aquino and developed by Eufonia Studio. Running throughout May 2025, the event brought together over 80 content creators.
Influencer Maher Mahmude Sultani, aka Maherco, rose to the top streamer spot in May, up from second place the previous month behind Adin Ross. The Jordanian impressed viewers with a wide variety of gaming content, streaming across 35 different categories. Still, gambling streams remained the heart of his channel.
Among creators, Andy "ElZeein" Ramírez and Adin Ross also made waves, each surpassing 1 million hours watched. ElZeein organized a Dota 2 tournament for Peruvian streamers and esports players called Zeinternacional, while Adin Ross returned with another round of his boxing series, Brand Risk.
The top female streamers remain fairly stable, with Alondra “Alondrissa” Michelle still leading in average viewers. However, the gap has tightened: by the end of May, she held just a 1,000 concurrent viewer lead over fellow Peruvian Milenka “milenkanolasco” Nolasco. Close behind them is Zullyy_cs, also Peruvian and a good friend of Nolasco.
Overall, the platform’s female top ranks continue to be dominated by streamers from Spain and Spanish-speaking South America. Among Europeans, only one Finnish streamer cracked the top 10.
In June, it was announced that members of major American gaming orgs One True King (OTK) and FaZe Clan would begin streaming on Kick. This sets the stage for even bigger audience growth and new platform records by the end of the month!
