Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos recently broke the all-time Twitch record for Peak Viewers, with over 3.44M concurrent viewers spectating his boxing event. Due to the huge success of his event, ibai has seen an over 2000% increase in Followers Gain over the last 30 days. Amassing over 16K new followers an hour on average, ibai has experienced a boost in popularity to become the third most-followed Twitch streamer on the site.
La Velada del Año III, Llanos' boxing event, took place on the 1st of July at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain. The boxing event features Spanish-speaking content creators and has been a yearly event for ibai since 2021. La Velada del Año, the evening of the year, has been a hugely successful series for ibai; he set a new record for Peak Viewers in 2022 with 3.35M fans and quickly smashed his own record again in 2023.
Most Followed Twitch Channels, All-time

Most followed Twitch streamers ever (Updated on July 2023)
Since the start of 2023, the Most Followed Twitch channels have remained fairly static. In comparison to January 2023, the sole change to the rankings has been ibai overtaking Rubius.
Ibai’s recent surge in popularity catapulted him into third place, beating out other Spanish content creators such as Rubius and TheGrefg, but also English-speaking creators like xQc, shroud, and pokimane.
However, despite his virality, he is still to claim the crown of the most-followed Spanish streamer. Content creator AuronPlay continues to be the most-followed Spanish streamer on Twitch. AuronPlay, or Raúl Álvarez Genes, is a veteran creator from Barcelona, having started his YouTube channel in 2006. Since then he grew his audience on YouTube with his humour and well-created videos. He was titled the “precursor to the vlogger world in Spain” by GQ Spain and amassed over 4B views on his YouTube channel.
In recent years AuronPlay has shifted his focus to the world of live-streaming, as many YouTube creators have done, and built up a monster Twitch following. With the strength of 29M YouTube subscribers behind him, AuronPlay became one of the biggest names on Twitch. But, with only half a million Followers separating them, ibai is quickly catching up to the Catalan.
Ibai may still sit behind AuronPlay, but ibai’s momentum advantage is out of the question. Across the past 90 days alone, ibai has received almost 2M new Followers: 574% more than AuronPlay throughout the same time period. Ibai’s yearly boxing event has surely had a huge impact on his recent metrics, but nevertheless, he has also achieved over 200% more Average Viewers compared to his rival during Q2.
Comparison of fastest-growing Twitch streamers, last 90 days
Moving our focus to the top Twitch channels of the last 90 days according to Followers Gain, we can see ibai claimed the spot as the fastest-growing channel on Twitch, with almost
2M Followers Gain in just three months. He was by far the fastest-growing Spanish-speaking channel on Twitch.
Spanish remains one of the fastest-growing languages on Twitch, with half of the top 10 channels by Followers Gain being Spanish-speaking. Apart from ibai, the other five Spanish-speaking channels were Latin American, and two Portuguese Minecraft creators also made the cut.
Ibai outperformed the most-popular English streamers too. He amassed over 1M more Followers Gain than KaiCenat, who reached 835K Followers Gain with over 17.6M Hours Watched during this period, and 1.4M more Followers Gain than Jynxzi, the most popular community content creator for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege with over 1M Followers Gain so far this year.
As it stands, ibai is the most-popular Twitch streamer on the platform over the last 90 days, all metrics considered. With the viral momentum of his La Velada del Año III fueling his growth, he might very well quickly become the most-followed Spanish streamer on Twitch. With over 1M Followers Gained in July, only one weekend into the month, bridging the roughly 3.5M Followers gap to top streamer Ninja might not be as impossible as it seems.
