Streams Charts sums up the February results of YouTube Gaming and YouTube Live. Last month, the platform's users watched a lot of broadcasts on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, CS:GO and Arena of Valor esports leagues, and the most active gaming streamers were content creators from the U.S. and Japan.
Most Popular YouTube Gaming Channels of February 2023
The official channel of MPL Indonesia, which broadcasts the regional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang league of the same name, became the most popular channel on YouTube Gaming in February. In a month, it accumulated almost 6.5 million Hours Watched. It should be noted that there are three other channels dedicated to the game in the Top 5. YouTube is the main platform for broadcasting ML:BB esports leagues and we can see this trend every month when the leagues are held.
The popularity of mobile MOBA is also demonstrated by the fact that it is ML:BB tournaments that dominate in terms of Peak Viewers among all esports tournaments (as of early March 2023). In January, M4 World Championship drew more than 4.2 million Peak Viewers, while the ongoing MPL Indonesia Season 11 league has so far reached 1.8 million Peak Viewers.
Popular American YouTuber IShowSpeed is also a regular in our ranking. In February, his channel rose from eighth to third place with 3.46 million Hours Watched (16% more than it had in January). This growth resulted primarily from an increase in broadcasting time from 51 to 80 hours over the past month. The restless IShowSpeed is often involved in amusing situations and scandals. For example, on February 28, IShowSpeed was banned for a week on YouTube for his FIFA Awards broadcast.
ESL's official CS:GO channel ranks fifth. In February, it accumulated just over 3 million Hours Watched, mainly thanks to IEM Katowice 2023 and ESL Pro League Season 17 tournaments broadcasts.
Almost the entire second half of the Top comprises esports leagues channels. The ten most popular channels include LCK League channel (League of Legends), the Vietnamese and Thai Arena of Valor league channels, as well as the channel with the official Japanese Valorant broadcast.
Considering a separate ranking of content creators, the Top 3 together with IShowSpeed include French steamer Inoxtag and Brazilian streamer NOBRU — they accumulated 2.6 million and 2.2 million Hours Watched, respectively. The former mostly played Rocket League and Minecraft in February, and the latter devoted almost all of his airtime to the battle royale Garena Free Fire.
The ranking also includes two popular American shooter games streamers — TimTheTatman and DrDisrespect. They actively played Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 in February and racked up 2.1 million and 1.8 million Hours Watched in a month, respectively.
Three channels in the Top 10 belong to streamers from Japan — Pekora, jun channel and Kuzuha Channel. These creators broadcast a wide variety of content, from Minecraft and Hogwarts Legacy to Judgment, the spin-off of the popular Yakuza game franchise.
Most Popular YouTube Live Non-Gaming Channels in February 2023
The Lofi Girl music channel retained its lead among the most popular non-gaming YouTube Live channels, although it accumulated 9% fewer Hours Watched in February than in January. However, we have to keep in mind the difference in the number of days in these months.
AlJazeera Arabic news channel and U.S. children's entertainment channel Songs for Littles are also in the Top 3 of the ranking. They saw an increase to 12.3 million and 10.7 million HW in February, respectively.
CazéTV, owned by Brazilian streamer casemito, ranks fourth with 7.4 million HW. Most of his broadcasts were about reviews of Liga Carioca matches, the Rio de Janeiro state football championship. On February 25, one of these broadcasts drew more than 2 million PV, the best result of 2023 so far, considering all streaming platforms (Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, etc.).
Traditionally, many of the non-gaming top positions are taken by channels devoted to politics and world news. However, there are also a couple of religious vlogs, such as the channel of Pastor Jerry Eze and Bishop Bispo Bruno Leonardo.
