IShowSpeed also does plenty of IRL streams, reacts to videos, and goes on chatting websites such as Omegle, where he talks with strangers about many subjects.
In the past year, viewers watched his broadcasts for an astonishing 37 million hours. Being just 17 years old, but with an already large community that continues to grow at a fast pace, we will see IShowSpeed in many future iterations of this list. IShowSpeed is already one of the most popular streamers in the world, and is a creator that YouTube Gaming definitely wants to keep.
VTuber Kuzuha Channel occupies the second place in the list, with viewers watching his streams for an impressive 28.2 million hours. The Japanese content creator is a variety streamer, who focuses mainly on multiplayer competitive games such as Apex Legends, Valorant, League of Legends, and Overwatch 2. He entertains thousands of viewers daily, and is one of the biggest VTubers on the platform. Kuzuha Channel is constantly trying new games, and he collaborates with plenty of other VTubers regularly. In these collaborations, he plays games with or against those VTubers, doing some League of Legends custom 5v5 matches, or playing Escape from Tarkov with his peers.
Closing out the top three we have North American creator TimTheTatman. Since switching to YouTube in 2021, TimTheTatman has become one of the most popular streamers on the platform. He is a very well-known name in the streaming industry, famous for playing multiple battle royale games. In 2022, he streamed primarily Call of Duty: Warzone, and viewers watched him for 27.6 million hours.
In fourth place, we have another streamer that mainly broadcasts Call of Duty: Warzone. We are talking about DrDisRespect, which is also well known for playing multiple battle royale titles such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends, and Fortnite. Last year, “the two time” was watched for 24.9 million hours. Securing the fifth place in this list, with 23.2 million HW, we have popular Japanese VTuber Pekora Ch. 兎田ぺこら. Pekora Ch. 兎田ぺこら is a variety streamer, and you can find her playing with other VTubers regularly. In 2022, Pokémon Karmesin und Purpur was her most played game.
The 2022 streamer of the year Ludwig comes in sixth place, with his broadcasts being watched for 22.8 million hours. Closely behind him, we have Indonesian gaming creator Windah Basudara, with22.7 million HW. Spanish streamer vegetta77, who mostly plays Minecraft, secured seventh place, with 21.6 million Hours Watched. In the eighth place, we have yet another Spanish streamer. Popular FIFA content creator DjMaRiiO broadcasts were watched for 21.6 million hours. Last but not least, we have the only Vietnamese streamer on this list. With 21 million HW, variety streamer MixiGaming was the tenth most popular streamer on the platform.
Only streamers with an Airtime of 300 or more hours were taken into account
If we take a look at the top ten YouTube streamers with the most AV, we can see that IShowSpeed once again tops the list, by a significant margin. The North American streamer broadcasts had 52K Average Viewers, an impressive number, especially compared to the other channels in the list. DjMaRiiO secured second place with 32K AV, while Windah Basudara closed the podium. The majority of the streamers on this list, were also present on the previous one, with only the order in which they were placed changing.
Only two new channels made their way into this list, and they are both Japanese VTubers. The first one is Miko Ch. さくらみこ, who is a member of the hololive VTuber agency, and occupies the seventh place on the list, with 23K Average Viewers. She plays a plethora of games, such as Minecraft, Rust, and Pokémon Karmesin und Purpur. Miko Ch. さくらみこ often collaborates with other hololive VTubers, and her broadcasts are always filled with funny moments. Thousands of people tune into her stream on a daily basis, as they enjoy Miko Ch. さくらみこ diversified content.
The other new entry on this list is Subaru Ch. 大空スバル, who is also part of hololive. She is a variety streamer, and the majority of the time she spent broadcasting in 2022, was under the gaming category. Subaru Ch. 大空スバル broadcasts had 21K concurrent viewers last year, making her the ninth YouTube creator with the highest amount of AV.
As we can see, North American and Japanese streamers dominate both lists, with VTubers continuing to rise in popularity. Despite that, in 2022, no one was a match for IShowSpeed, who topped both metrics by a large margin. As of today, he is the most popular steamer on the platform, and it's not going to be easy to catch him, as his fanbase continues to grow at a fast pace. With YouTube continuing to evolve as a streaming platform, and making changes to improve both the streamer's and viewers' experiences, all the signs indicate that 2023 will be a great year for the platform.
