The highly-anticipated Premios ESLAND 2024 was held at the Andorra Sports Centre in Andorra la Vella, Andorra on February 16. There were awards in 12 categories handed out, with the winners' list including the likes of Ibai, xCry, and IlloJuan.
For those unaware, this award show celebrates the creativity and talent of the best content creators from the Spanish-speaking community. That is the basis behind the name as well, with ESLAND being a mix of three words — Spain, Latin America, and Andorra — where the language is most spoken and popular.
A star-studded white carpet saw claim IlloJuan the Streamer of the Year and Variety Streamer of the Year prizes, xCry take home the Streamer Revelation Streamer of the Year trophy, and Llunaclark walk away with the IRL Streamer of the Year gong. Ibai, too, continued his streak of winning at major functions by taking home the Best Event of the Year award for his La Velada del Año III, the second straight year this boxing tournament has won in this category.

All this star power saw the third edition of the ESLAND Awards record 1.7M Hours Watched, 475.8K Peak Viewers, and 317.6K Average Viewers over five and a half six hours of airtime. A major reason for these numbers being lower than the previous two editions was the absence of some of the biggest names in the Spanish and LATAM communities, including Ibai.
The Twitch powerhouse and entrepreneur had told ESLAND creator and host TheGrefg that he wouldn't attend the show in snow-capped Andorra because his esports team, MAD LIONS KOI, would be busy playing in the LEC Winter 2024 in Berlin, and he would be there to support his boys. This meant a lot of the viewers he would have brought to this event ended up heading to this League of Legends competition to see how the team would fare.
He did surprise everyone present by sending a doppelganger in his place, with this body double even going on stage to receive the Event of the Year award. And yes, for those fans asking, MAD LIONS KOI has reached the Grand Final and will play G2 Esports later today for a berth at the Mid-Season Invitational 2024.
Other notable absentees were Juansguarnizo, ElSpreen, Auronplay, and Quackity, who all revealed they would skip this ceremony for various reasons. Interestingly, Rubius also decided not to show up because he felt it was time for newer content creators to get the spotlight and show their potential as he had been doing this for a decade and didn't really need such accolades anymore.
These names' absences were keenly felt in the viewership figures, with TheGrefg's Twitch and YouTube channels doing the heavy lifting. Compared to the Premios ESLAND 2023, this year's show fell by 423.9%, 268.4%, and 343.3% in terms of HW, PV, and AV, respectively.
